  1. RM750x was out of stock so I followed your advice and got the 650W one and FD Define C. I'm happy with the results - noise level decreased significantly and coil whine disappeared. Cable management can't even be compared to my old case Thank you all!
  2. @Ethocreeper, I just checked and the stores near me don't offer the RMi, just the RMx. @quan289, I'm not planning on SLI, but I'll probably swap that ancient GTX 470 with something more up to date The only reason I chose the 750W was that the 650W model was just 10$ cheaper and I thought that the higher wattage will ensure lower usage % so it will keep the fan not spinning, but that's just my logic and I'm not 100% sure that PSU works that way
  3. Hey, I've decided to replace my old CM Elite 430 Case and CM GX750W PSU, mostly because the PSU is pretty loud and the case has pretty bad cable management options. I've chosen Corsair RM750x 750W and FD DEFINE C BLACK WINDOW. Can you guys give me your opition about these two items or suggest me something in that price range or cheaper? I'll be using these two with the components in my signature.
  4. A little update on my case - it was a bad unit after all. I got my replacement today and with the new CPU I can barely reach 75C after 1 hour OCCT which seems fine to me
  5. I reinstalled it yesterday but there was little to no effect - check my post from yesterday:
  6. - Yes, that was how I tightened the screws. - I used smart profile that was bumping the speed to 100% (~2000 RPM) after 65C. I know it was a bit overkill in normal use case but I was desperate I packed the mobo, cpu and cooler and I'll be sending it for warranty service tomorrow, so this thread can be considered as closed for now Meanwhile, I installed my old AM3 + Phenom 955 (140W CPU) + Xigmatek 1283 setup and it's running waaay cooler -
  7. I just reinstalled the cooler (took some pictures before and after, if you are interested I'll upload) and noticed that one of the screws on the mounting bracket had 0.5mm gap between the nut and the motherboard so I thought that was causing the high temperatures, but there was no effect after tighten and reinstalling the cooler. It's still thermal throttling at stock clocks and voltage set to auto after 10 minutes of stability test in AIDA64. I set the voltage to 1.2v as suggested earlier and ran the stability test again for about 20 minutes and it seems to be ok. The temps were going up and down between 65C and 80C during the test. Is that a normal behavior? Check the graph of the CPU Core -
  8. It stops after 45s because "Core #0 over maximum value !". I used about 80% of the syringe that was shipped with Dark Rock 3. I'll post pictures of both CPU and Cooler surfaces when I remove the cooler tomorrow. I have to wait until tomorrow to get a restock of the thermal paste in a local store, because they had only some crappy left. Btw, I'll be using Arctic Silver 5, I've read in the forums that it's a decent one, I guess it will do the job.
  9. I don't know why it's so high, it was set to auto. I set it to 1.2V and tried OCCT, but it failed after ~30sec due to "Error detected on Core #2". I'll do the cooler reseating, but I'm currently out of thermal paste and it's late evening in my country so I'll be doing this tomorrow. I'll get back to you with the results. Thank you all for helping
  10. I just ran another Prime95 stress test and after 20 min, the radiator of DR3 was not even warm
  11. It's less than 10 days since I bought it, so I can just return it I get the same results with HWMonitor, AIDA64 and MSI's Command Center.
  12. When I stop Prime, it cools down to 40ish for about a seconds. At least I confirmed these temperatures are way above normal I'll try to reinstall it and if I get the same results I'll probably try to replace it.
  13. Yes, I have. I also tried to use stock cooler from 6700, but it was also hitting 95C+ Any chance of getting better results if I ask for replacement?
  14. Hey guys, I bought i7 7700K and Dark Rock 3 last week but the temps I get are a bit concerning - I get ~40-42C at idle and ~60-65C in games. What concerns me most is that when I run Prime95 the temperature goes up to 80C for about 10 minutes and then it starts raising to 95C+. I tried to touch the cooler and it was not even warm. I used the thermal paste that was shipped with the Dark Rock 3 - I don't know how good it was, but it shouldn't be that bad, right? I don't know if that matters much in my case but the temperature in my room is between 20-25C. I haven't used a K processor before, but the temps doesn't seem to be ok. Can you tell me what temps should I be getting with this CPU and this(or similar) cooler?
