Some that are more expensive dont some do and the same is true of cheaper ones. Not to mention on the cards that dont qualify youre only looking at around $10 for shipping so its still cheaper when theres a $30 or more price difference

Up to $1600 is exempt so there is no import/export duty even though that card was made in Taiwan or what ever so theres no extra cost on Amazons end to ship you the card from USA. Based on what youre saying the Canadian goods come direct to Canada which goes back to my point above of Vancouver being closer than Amazons USA west coast import warehouse in LA and so should be cheaper. And its illogical not to look at it without the central west coast shipping locations. Do you have the option to order from out of country because the price of the card you linked is obscene. I used the Google currency converter which prices that card at $290 Canadian which is about $25 more than a 480 and $70 more than a 470 here Also just based on my personal experience I wouldnt be afraid of going Gigabyte. I got my Gigabyte 6850 7 years ago and it was just recently I had to oil one of the fans. Maybe their quality dropped over the years?

Most important to me is how it can handle hills since I live pretty much at the highest point in town and its about 3km uphill home from work and about 6km uphill from Superstore.
