  1. This is another possible option ... using the Sleep Setting plug in from Dynamix. Spaceinvader One made a video and talks a little about it's use. Have a great day everyone!
  2. No worries at at! I really appreciate all the help I get from the community! More than likely I will just switch out the GTX 690 with something a little newer when GPU's drop down to something reasonable! Have a great day!
  3. Hello Everyone! I need a little help fixing an issue with my shares on my server. The machine has been running for a couple weeks, and has be through at least 5 parity checks. Also, the Mover has activated at least 4 times. Yet it's still showing me at least 3 'unprotected' shares. I'm hoping someone can tell what steps I should take to get those shares turn to green. Thank you for your help!
  4. Thank you both!! I've tried both methods, and so far I still can't get the other/first GPU to Fold. I'm wondering if it's an issue with the GTX 690 being a dual GPU??? Maybe with unRAID a person can only use one GPU per physical PCI-e slot???
  5. Hello! I need some help getting a folding slot working again. I have a GTX 690, which is a dual GPU. I had Folding @ Home running fine on the CPU and one of the GPU's ... and then I made some changes to the docker settings to try and get the second GPU to start folding also. The setting I changed were to add a "Variable" -> Nvidia Visible Devices: (that I called GPU #2) ... & added the GPU ID ... and then pressed 'APPLY'. The docker started back up fine ... but then my first GPU wasn't folding. The CPU and the second GPU are folding. When I open the web GUI it tells me the 'GPU disabled' ... when I mouse over the red dot for that GPU, it tells me 'Folding slot disabled'. Does anyone know how to get both GPU's folding at the same time? Thank you for all your help!!
  6. Can anyone tell me how to do what Linus talked about in his video here; We made the perfect couples PC! @ 10:30 As far as how to start my unRAID array automatically when I turn on the machine. Thank you in advance for all your help!
  7. I'm willing to guess this is a question that possibility has no right answer. But I'm certain there are contributors out there that are very knowledgeable, and I'm hoping to get their advice. How does a person balance efficiency with redundancy when planning a server/nas build? Meaning if you know you want your target storage capacity to be approx. 30 TB, is it better to go with 15 x 2 TB drives, or say 3 x 10 TB? With 15 x 2 TB you might have more redundancy but you're also spinning 15 drive motors. Yes you're spending less per HDD, but I wonder if the per TB cost is higher!? With 3 x 10TB you might have less redundancy but you're spinning 3 drive motors. Likely your per TB cost is lower (??) Is there a perfect balance?? Thanks to everyone for your help and advice!!
  8. I figured out what I did wrong. I missed one of the instructions when installing the Folding at Home docker. I made the proper changes and now the docker/Folding at Home is working great!
  9. Hello Everyone! I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what wrong with my config! I just installed a GTX 1660 Super in my unRAID server so it could go to work Folding at Home. I am using the Folding at Home docker from linuxserver. However when I opened the web UI this is what I saw. All help and advice is appreciated!!
  10. Thanks for the advice! I was only planning to use the smart plug to turn the server on (with the BIOS set for "Power On" after power failure) ... Jarsky mentioned using a User Script to get the thing to turn off. However the more I thing about it, I'm really liking the idea of just leaving the thing on all the time. I'll put a GPU in it and let it Fold at Home.
  11. Thank you very much for this! I've never used a 'user script' so I will have to learn how to! I never thought of the Wake-on-Lan idea, but I'll have to see if it will work on that old Dell tower. You have given me a lot to work with ... thanks!!!
  12. Hello Everyone! I'm playing with the idea of putting together a second unRAID box to be a back up to my main unRAID NAS. My intention is to use Syncthing to back up some docs/files from main unRAID to second unRAID. However I'm thinking that second unRAID box only needs to be turned on maybe 1 - 2 hours a day to sync all the changes for that day. So to save the electricity I want to find a way to have the second unRAID box to turn it's self off. To turn second unRAID machine on my thought is to set the BIOS to 'turn on after power loss' ... and then use a smart plug to cycle the power off to on. But I need help on the best way to shut the system down, as I'm thinking using the smart plug to simply turn the power off would be a very poor way to do it!! The equipment I would be using for the second unRAID machine is an old Dell inspiron tower w/ an Intel Core2Quad ... so it doesn't have the functionality to use the network to turn on or off ... (I think). Thank you in advance for all your help and advice!!!
  13. Jarsky, I'm reading the documentation now ... (& trying to understand it!) Forgive me, I'm sure this is an elementary question but how do you get to the "Index of" screen you showed? I played around with the 'Shares' tab some but couldn't figure it out. I have the Syncthing app install on my server ... now I'm trying to figure out how to use it to sync media and data I have on it to other machines. I'm trying to spend a bit more time learning my unRAID server. Thank you!
  14. I'm sorry, what is RTFM?? Thank you very much for the help!!!
