  1. It is not a monitor problem because I always had it set to 1080P and it worked just fine
  2. My monitor's native resolution is 1600x900 but I was always able to set it to 1920x1080 in the nvidia control panel. Now when I do so the monitor says "out of range". My hard drive recently died in my PC therefore I had to reinstall Windows. I use the same nvidia driver so I have a feeling that it has something to do with windows screwing around with my GPU. Any help is appreciated.
  3. Thanks for your ideas! I am looking for a card that can run games like COD and GTA at reasonable frame rates. I forgot to mention that in my post.
  4. Hi, I have an old Dell Precision T3400 that I got for free. I would like to turn it into a gaming PC. I have already ordered 8GB RAM and a Q6600 CPU. I need advice on what Video card to get for it. Here are some of my concerns: 1. Power: A. There is only one 6 pin power connector. B. The Dell power supply in it is only 375 watts. 2. Space: A. The plastic thing around the heatsink might be in the way. B. Below the top PCI-E slot there is a RAID/SAS controller that I would like to keep. C. At the bottom of the case is where the hard drives mount and in the front there is a fan for the HDDs and PCI-E devices. D. I might only limited to low-profile Video cards so i don't think a GTX 1070 sized-card will fit. 3. Budget: I only have $50 to $65 to spend on a GPU. I am willing to use pre-owned hardware. Below is some pictures of the inside of my case to let you get a better understanding of what I am working with. And by the way, the 8400GS already in it HAS TO GTFO!
  5. Might be the CPU, motherboard or PSU.
  6. Do you have any extra hardware to test it? Like more RAM, another PSU and possibly a different CPU or motherboard?
  7. Do you know the error code in the BSOD? Does your motherboard make any beep codes?
  8. Try different RAM, try an alternate monitor.
  9. I do this a lot and there should be a metal holder to screw the outlet in place. I attach the ground wire to the screw that holds the outlet in.
  10. What my suggestion is to replace the 2-prong outlet with a standard 3 prong outlet.
  11. Bitlocker is built in to only the pro or ultimate versions of windows, but a bitlocked drive can be accessed on any computer. When I pluged it in a popup would say to enter my password and it would be unlocked until I removed it or I locked it in Windows. Ever since i plugged it in my old vista computer it screwed it up.
  12. I don not want to format it because I have important files. You think I should find data recovery software?
  13. So I found my old laptop with Windows Vista and I am trying to copy files from it on to my Windows 10 PC. I get that Windows error on both computers. It is a 16GB Sandisk drive. I tried to do chkdsk in CMD but it won't work because the file system is RAW. It is Bitlocker encrypted by the way. Someone please help!
  14. They say they are from 1993- 1994. Do they have any value if I sell them?
