  1. ID like to build a NAS for my family to put backups on, we also have a leftover hp pavillion from 2012 or so id like to use for the base. Now, the basic case only has one (1) HDD mounting point (that i could find), thus id like to use a new case, however, the mounting points look non-standard to me, though i am not sure. While i am at it id also like to upgrade the PSU, however i am worried that it uses nonstanrd pining on the power conectors. Can anyone with a better google- (or whatever searchengine you use) -fu maybe help me out here? Thanks in advance, Pixelot p.s: sorry for the dirty PC, i dont think it has ever been cleaned... edit: if this is in the wrong topic im sorry, but i wasnt sure which other topic would be the correct one.
  2. i need to pay 60€ to create a recovery drive... is there possibly a free one?
  3. i retried it and i didnt get the error, though i chose the "upgrade" option, to which it told me that i cant do that using boot media
  4. When i boot my PC i get a CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED error, upon which windows restarts and puts me into recovery. I cant: boot into safe mode uninstall updates recover the system from a recovery point because it doesnt find any repair my files using DISM and chkdsk tells me everything is good sfc tells me it cant start some progress. i tried using a usb drive to "reinstall" windows, but i got an error pretty much imediatly. does anyone have any ideas? System: Windows 64 bit Some weaker ryzen processor Gtx 1660 16 gigs of ram
  5. So i just viewed the new LTT video where they test a ceramic coating for automotive paints on a smartphone. I thought why not test it on laptop touch screens. Now im not talking about Apples high(er) end glas mousepads, but rather a medium range, maybe evem lower end mousepad. The material might be a little closer to what an automotive paint might be made of.
  6. Well, that depends. The 2700x has a higher base clock (3.7 as opposed to 3.2). Also IIRC the x series can be overclocked
  7. So first of all, im not sure if this is the right topic, but here goes nothing: I have a laptop containing an HDD with a rather recent install of linux mint, will i run into problems, when trying to migrate it to my main PC to use its graphics card? If this belongs into another topic (like OSs) please tell me, so i can go over there! TIA, Pixelot
  8. So, i have just installed the Folding@Home client for my PC and have discovered that there seems to be some sort of remote control App. I have some problems setting this app up. Is there an "official" paper or setup guide, or could any of you help me out setting it up? TIA, Pixelot. P.S: i use iOS
  9. yeah, i think 1080p 32'' is to little ppi, im looking at this atm. Its relatively cheap (discounted) has 27'' 1080p and 144Hz. Its 1800mm crved display, but i have no problem with that. Thoughts?
  10. im changing from a POS laptop with 15'', everything i take will be a huge difference
  11. Does it interfere? Im not going to be able to get one with gsync, it has 144hz tho
  12. How about this thing? https://www.newegg.com/global/de/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824011157
  13. Yeah, i want to eventually upgrade to two screens. I prefer 27'' over 24'' though. Also the Problem with G-Sync is, its jacks up the prices of montors considerbly
  14. PSU: Ill definetly look into the PSU, its far better for not much of a price increase RAM: Sadly, my Budget is only ~1500€ and this machone already is at 1560€ Keyboard: Meant a geeric gaming keyboard, at around 50€. I gave standards ^^ Screen: Is not having G-snc really that bad? From what i can see, its a relatively good, not too expensive screen
