I've got about a decade of professional coding experience.

I find that Java and C# are pretty interchangeable. They are both full fat languages with massive sets of libraries behind them. Takes a bit of effort to switch between them but it's not a ton of effort. I primarily professionally code in C#. If you want to work in the web dev sphere, either is a great place to focus effort

As for Python, dang, it's POWERFUL, but ultimately a lot of that power comes from precompiled binaries often written in some flavor of C. But it's most useful in building pipelines. If you want to work in data sciences (computational biology, any physics/astronomy, most geology/oil/water, etc.) it's a really good tool, but know that there is *very* little money in those fields without a PhD. That being said, if I'm writing something personal and durable that can't be easily done in bash/cmd/ps, I always reach for python.

Ultimately, the best advice is to stay language agnostic. Learn the fundamental concepts of programming: boolean logic, objects/interfaces/inheritance, lambda functions, etc. Then apply those ideas with whatever syntax the language requires. Heck, there are some super cool things being done with Rust and LUA and Go. They all have their strengths and they all have their weaknesses, but never let anyone tell you that one language is better than all others, even PERL has its place... probably.

I'm not totally sure this is for this thread but it is coding related so, anyway I've been learning to code, currently in python and taking cs50 course, also dabbled in Java last year, all this is partly for my own uses and also for potential side career, maybe fulltime if things go well, so with that thought i was perusing through some job boards just to see if there were any patterns of developer skills or specialties that are most in demand, generally just try to get an idea of what direction i should focus on besides my own interests to land one of these gig's in the future and was a bit shocked to find about 70% of the boards are saturated with Java developer, sr Java developer, backend developer-must be familiar in Java, so on and so forth...So my question is once I've finished my current classes and am comfortable in python, should i swing back and lean hard into Java? from the stand point of the job boards Java, Python and their associated frameworks seem to be on top, followed by all the C's, just like to get some inside perspective from people already living that life, is Java where the money is currently? if so any ideas as to why, like does the language suit the needs of all these companies, or to do with some of the shady business dealings from oracle I've read about, forcing companies to be locked in?  either way from an outside perspective looking at the employment demands it seems like these are the two top languages to be familiar in, scrolling the internet doesn't offer much clarity because every coder/programmer seems to live and die by there favorite language, I'm looking for opinions a little more real world unbiased as much as possible from those doing this for a living

Hi guys! I recently acquired a Xbox One S and I'm searching a list of games that run at 60 fps.
I've already searched this on Google but every page I saw is very outdated.
Does anyone know about a page with a updated list? If not, please comment with the games you know that runs at 60fps on XB1 S.
I know Fortnite, Gears of War 4, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, Titanfall 2, Doom, and Redout run at 60fps.

Probably it's goin to work like the crew or they'll just be drivatars like in horizon 3. Don't really think that it'll affect anything.

    Halo 5
    Halo MCC

Gears of War 4 only runs 60 fps in online versus matches.  Horde and campaign are 30fps.

No lists sorry, but I know that the Forza Motorsport games run at 60 fps (Not the Horizon series, they're 30).

    Forza 5, Forza 6 and Forza 7.

Nice choice.  I think that puts you pretty much into the Xbox One X territory for performance.

    I think there's a pretty big gap between the 1060 and 2400g.  Most threads I've seen compare the 1030 to a 2400g.  I don't think I could settle with the 2400g.

I think the most important question here is what do you want to play? and are you ok with only using a controller?
Note that controllers are great depending on the game.  Third person adventure, racing etc.. they're perfect. I use a controller for a good chunk of my pc gaming.
But with FPS games they struggle.  While you can get decently good with them they'll never have the precision as mouse and keyboard.

The problems for you are not the problem for everyone, as you can see.
For me PlayStation and Nintendo are crap, I'd never recommend someone to get any of those.

@Majinhoju man I totally agree with you. Simplicity is key, what I wanted when I purchased my XB1 S is to stop having to mess with the settings to finally play a game to a decent framerate. When I realized I could play the games I wanted without spending 1200 bucks in a super PC (not so super), XB1 was the easiest answer for me. And now I've seen how simple and greatly you can play games it really changed my mind about consoles.

So, @a7mddiaa: "how worse is console experience than PC?":

Not worse. Just different. I think you just give it a try. But I strongly recommend the XB1. I've tried PS4 pro but I didn't liked it.

Oh boy... Here we go again. Let's address some more points..

    Credit cards.
I can understand the frustrations but.. again, this doesn't affect everyone.  You risk getting your bank info stolen just pumping gas.  My bank has temporarily shutdown my debit card after I pumped gas at a gas station that was targeted by scammers.  I've yet get my credit card info stolen but good credit card companies will usually offer some sort of protection.  I've been subbed to Xbox live since the original Xbox days.

    Simplicity.
I'm comparing PC to Xbox.  That's nice if Ps4 is even simpler, but irrelevant if someone wants to play Halo, Gears or Forza.  Xbox still wins hands down against pc for simplicity.  Most of the users here are enthusiasts so simplicity probably doesn't matter as much them.  The rest of the world though? hmm... With Xbox, you don't have to open Origin to play your EA titles, open the Blizzard app to play Diablo, open steam for your other games.  They're all available in your game list or by popping the disc in.  Some people want that closed easy format.  If I took away our xbox and hooked up a gaming pc to the living room tv, my wife would flip her shit at me because she loves playing on the Xbox.  I even installed Gears of War 4 on her pc.  Take a guess what she prefers playing it on?  See where i'm going with this?

    Backwards Compatibility.
While it's not the entire library, if I want to play some classic Gears, or Red Dead Redemption etc.., I don't have to dig out my noisey af original Xbox 360. Many of these classic titles are X enhanced now too.

    PC vs Gaming.
My honest opinion?  Hell yeah, I love PC gaming the best.  You want mouse and keyboard support, an open platform and the best possible graphics? Then yes, pc gaming is for you.  But i'm not everyone, you're not everyone.

You keep telling people to avoid Xbox One like the plague yet there are people like me here who've enjoyed their time with it.  Are you bothered that I have enjoyed owning a Xbox?

Look, this guy isn't the enemy, he just loves his xbox.

I have an Xbox One and have a PC. I love both. The Xbox one is great for hanging out with your friends because the controls for creating a party and inviting friends to games is extremely easy, all without having to leave your game it literally takes all of 5 seconds to invite your friend to a party... if you are proefficient with the controller. as for Controller latency I haven't noticed anything but I have been gaming on a Logitech M570 for the past 5 years so I wouldn't have much to say as far as gaming latency, but I can pwn noobs all day on my xbox... also I really love the headphone jack on the Xbox One Controllers, I can crank my music from the pandora app without having to annoy my parents. and you can multitask. not with games but with apps, so you can play games and listen to pandora or spotify or Iheartradio, and youtube (don't quote me on being able to play youtube and game at the same time). If you want a console to play with your friends, have really intuitive controls get an Xbox One. If you want to spend an extra $100 for a crappy console get a PS4.
