  1. During a round of spring cleaning we found a heavy box with an expensive surprise, Optane!
  2. The Apple Vision Pro promises to be the next revolution in tech.. but if you're not immersed in the Apple ecosystem does it still make any sense? Buy an Apple Vision Pro: https://lmg.gg/6Q1sT Buy a Meta Quest 3: https://lmg.gg/AG0Il (Canada: https://lmg.gg/4kr0H ) Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.
  3. We used these: https://www.mcmaster.com/2340N362/ That said you can definitely get them for way cheaper from AliExpress, we jest realized we needed them quickly so went with McMaster.
  4. We could properly review Threadripper Pro 7000, but since none of you will be purchasing one anyway we figured having a bit of fun with it was in order. Check out the Falcon Northwest Talon PC: https://lmg.gg/falconnorthwesttalon Check out the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX (You wouldn't actually buy one...right?): https://geni.us/ro5cKt Buy G.SKILL ZETA R5 NEO 6400 MT/S CL32 4x32GB DDR5 RAM: https://geni.us/d5OkyD Buy Kingston FURY Beast 6000MT/s CL40 4x16GB DDR5 RAM: https://geni.us/aucx Buy a Crucial T700 Gen 5 (RAID 0) 4TB NVMe M.2 SSD: https://geni.us/10LcW4E Check out the Micron 65000 ION U.3 30TB SSD: https://lmg.gg/cJReu Buy an ASUS TRX50-Sage WiFi Motherboard: https://geni.us/R4rcCEO Buy a Silverstone HELA 2050W PSU: https://geni.us/Qqgmg Buy a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 FE Graphics Card: https://geni.us/i7NfB Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.
  5. My general rules for washing: Always use cold water Separating by colour isn't really necessary when using cold water. Instead sort by roughness. I.e. have your socks, plaid shirts and towels in one load, underwear and LTT t-shirts in another. If it is stretchy don't use high heat in the dryer. Go low heat for longer. Ideally air dry. Mousepads you can just huck in the clothes washer, hang dry.
  6. I've used this stuff from MG Chemicals, it only has a thermal conductivity of 1.4W/mK but when assembling a heatsink the thermal conductivity of your adhesive is likely not going to be the bottleneck, tho solder is of course a lot better.
  7. Looking to get a deal on eBay, Linus purchased an assorted box of high end components. It didn't go well. Buy an Intel Core i9-13900K CPU: https://geni.us/ZApWp Buy an ASRock Z790 Taichi Lite Motherboard: https://lmg.gg/F4H6p Buy an NZXT H6 Flow Dual-Chamber Mid-Tower Case: https://lmg.gg/kCDuu Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.
  8. I'm going to recommend zipties over VHB in this situation, although both is the most correctist solution.
  9. We've made the MacBook Air cooler many times, but with the help of Frore Systems this time Apple should pay attention. Check out Frore Systems: https://www.froresystems.com/ Buy an Apple M2 MacBook Air: https://geni.us/9CSriF Buy an Apple M2 MacBook Pro: https://geni.us/UGH6G Check Out M2 MacBooks at Best Buy: https://lmg.gg/84gIL urchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.
  10. You'll first have to combine all of your displays into one output in the Nvidia control panel. Depending on what GPU you have it might be called something different but I used Mosaic, likely will have to make the middle one 1080P for it to work. After that just chuck the resolution of all 3 combined into that file and turn on Windowed Borderless, should be good to go
  11. I'm using it in Windows 11 without any problems at all. Have you tried downloading the Windows 10 drivers?
  12. Would have loved to also try out the Monza R5 or the Fanatec CSL DD in the video but it can only be so long and that was where we decided to speed things up a bit
  13. Using the pool to cool Linus' computers is working great... for the computers. For the humans though it is too dang hot.
  14. We have absolutely no idea why it blew up. Checked the power cord with a multimeter and it was fine. Replaced the switch and all has been good.
  15. After the Sonos upgrade video Linus' computer leaked and sadly is dead... but we've got a whole host of upgrades to the pool cooling loop to make sure it doesn't happen again. Buy a IEC C13 to IEC C14 Power Cable from Infinite Cables: https://lmg.gg/EVwLU Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.
  16. Typically when we buy laptops off AliExpress it is because they are comically bad... but on paper the Chuwi Corebook X is just plain a good deal. Buy a Chuwi CoreBook X 14" Laptop: https://lmg.gg/gFSmq Buy a HP 15.6" Laptop w/ Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU: https://geni.us/ecsjKv Buy a Sabrent Rocket 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD: https://geni.us/Q2an Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.

  18. Ours has an auto-purge that is super loud. To quiet it down we took the 3D model of a gun suppressor, scaled it up so it would fit on the exhaust and 3D printed it. After being stuffed with polyfill it is actually quite effective lol That said tho it would be awful to have in the same room and trying to put it somewhere else should be your first step.
  19. CableMod makes some. They're kinda expensive and use a stupid IR controller, but they also will plug into your PSU so that's cool. Looks fine in the pictures!
  20. Do you have the fan mount for the Hydro X? It might still be possible but real tight. But yeah for custom water cooling EATX makes your life sooo much easier.
  21. You're going to want to absolutely send it with the UV lighting. Tempered glass will knock off a lot of your brightness and UV glow is way less than RGB lighting that is currently on your parts. UV paint or UV sharpies can really help get some extra pop in areas you want it. Bitspower used to make UV lights designed to go in a computer, but imo it is better to just go to a party store or Amazon and get a cheap UV light bar. Also for bonus points the Cablemod Modmesh cables are UV reactive and look absolutely sick under UV light. Embarrassing old video where I figured all of this out: Rave PC
  22. What happens when you sort every Windows laptop in existence by price and buy the absolute cheapest? Well it certainly is pink. Buy an Acer Aspire 5 A515-45-R1QD Laptop: https://geni.us/mUKgbT Buy a "Laptop 10.1 Inch Windows 10 Notebook Computer Full HD Netbook Mini Gaming Mass Memory 3GB+32GB Cheap PC Laptops" Laptop on AliExpress: https://lmg.gg/utZm5 Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.
  23. The Thermaltake Smart 600W is the most popular power supply on Amazon... but that doesn't mean it is good. Buy an EVGA 450 BR PSU: https://geni.us/qAuje2 Buy a Seasonic Prime TX 650 PSU: https://geni.us/yq4g Buy a Thermaltake Smart 600W PSU: https://geni.us/ODPQMM Buy a Corsair SF450 PSU: https://geni.us/ompP Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.
  24. We wanted to use the Ally because then we could get screen recording to make the final video better. With the Switch + dock there was no way to do that
  25. The VF-390 Nacelle is a massive full carbon fiber fan that is designed for small aircraft... but can it cool a computer? Check out Vasy Fan: https://www.vasyfan.com/ https://youtube.com/@vasyx1.
