  1. my isp sent a hit squad after me for that equipment i paid for it straight out when i moved. but because they deal with the renting thing they assumed i stole the modem from my last place. I actually had to contact their support to tell the hit squad to stop. it took weeks before they stopped calling me had to go through fiscal and everything to get it straightened out.

    1. Overspending on either overpriced stuff or more performance than you need.

    2. You can get so caught up worrying about performance you forget to just play the game and enjoy it.

    3. Sometimes you have to troubleshoot stuff, and lots of the time it's a pain

    4. First time building can be difficult if you don't ask for advice, lots of people get terrible deals the first time.

    5. It can often be a lot more expensive

    and etc.

Can't agree more with that 4th point.

  3. So I piled this PC together mostly on eBay. Some parts I had lying around like a power supply and a case but I wanted to take my old motherboard which had a LGA 1156 and try and find a sweet deal for upgrading. Enter the X3440 Xeon processor the only real deal here. I'll include links though i don't recommend doing this these parts are old some of it is expensive and i bought mostly paperweights that weren't suppose to work risky.

    Mobo

EVGA P55 FTW 200 (Very good at overclocking Linus has a guide on overclocking this generation of processors too pretty informative & helpful again another paperweight that wasn't suppose to work)

    Cheaper Alternative: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Micro-X8SIL-F-LGA-1156-Intel-Motherboard-with-I-O-shield-Micro-ATX/253239879272?epid=80259044&hash=item3af645e668:g:g6YAAOSwe51Z-9Uh

Case (Don't use this i had this lying around not doing anything just get some crappy cheap case or use cardboard xd)

    GPU

PNY GTX 780 (Overclocked see in Pics wasn't supposed to work at all)

Link is in general the for parts or non-working auctions you can score well if you land it right: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=gtx 780&_dcat=27386&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=7000&_trksid=p2045573.m1684

    PSU

Corsair (don't know the exact model sticker was missing but it does say) 650w

    Why it was put together

I mostly bought this due to what you get for your money on eBay X3440s go anywhere from 17-25 bucks US. Then I figured that maybe I should probably get a higher quality mobo. Found another classic eBay sell for parts or non-working discount. Bent pins possibly non-working EVGA P55 FTW 200 for 40 bucks US. Solid choice was able to overclock it stable to 3.8 GHz. Another eBay part I found for kind of a steal was a non-working PNY GTX 780 for 49 bucks US including shipping. I included 16 gigabytes of Hyper X fury ddr3 memory. Had left over from another build i sold. The finishing touch was a case I used the modern Fractal Design Meshify C which seemed to fit everything nicely. The front panel 3.0 ports won’t work obviously.

    Final Thoughts and Benches

Everything here is super costly & old I wouldn't recommend it. I gambled with non-working conditions and came out ahead I benched and stress tested everything to death still working good as new. I'll also include benchmark pictures Cinebench and a couple of game benchmarks I have a lot so maybe an Imgur link would be more appropriate. If you got this route there are cheaper alternatives but all in all its still a heck of a PC centered on this Xeon very impressive.

  4. i honestly didn't have the time to peak at every video that came out and was only interested in a few things like scrap yard wars so when that went out so did i. But when scrap yard wars comes back i think its worth the sub just to watch it early its great content most of the time.
