  1. ok thank you , I will look up some performance figures for the pentium and then see if i can use those savings to put aside for a newer upgrade later down the line.
  2. From my country (As I am not in mainland UK) the prices for the r5 1600 are roughly £60 more expensive than the i5 and I really cant afford that. I dont think im too worried for future proof atm as I am going to do a whole load of saving in a few years time (After Uni) for a High end rig. If the 7500 is decent for todays workloads then I would be happy
  3. So a while back I built a budget pc but quite badly. I had paired a A10 7850k with an rx480 which was a huge bottleneck. I am going to sell the cpu, motherboard and ram (selling ram as it is ddr3) For roughly £200 (Buyers already lined up). I have done some more research and have looked at a i5 7500, 2x4GB ddr4 ram and an Asus prime B250m-a motherboard (Allows upgrades in future). Is this suitable for use with an RX480 4GB? I only have a budget of roughly £100 added onto the price I sell the other components for. ASUS PRIME B250M-A Motherboard
  4. I think i am going to go with an i5 7600k, some z270 motherboard that I can find that is not too expensive like around £110 and 16GB ddr 2400MHz Ram. For your offer on the cpu part I am ok thanks, there are a few good website have the i5 7600k at a really decent price. Just one more question, the z270 motherboards all come with the bios update for kaby lake, or will I have to try and find that information out first? Thanks
  5. Yeah I have decided to go with ddr4 ram, i am just going to wait a good while longer. You got an specific motherboard you would reccommend? Thanks for your help EDIT: I found a Gigabyte H270M-DS3H motherboard, this seems to have all the features i need, I just dont know if it overclocks or not. Anyone know?
  6. Ok so i pretty much have decided to sell my ram too then, and buy ddr4 ram (Costly It hurtz but im willing to starve myself for a while lol) so if I were to go with an I5 6700k what would be the best motherboard and ram? Im looking at Z270 motherboards and some 2x8GB ddr4 2666MHz ram on amazon and it is roughly £240 here, If you can find a motherboard that doesn't impack performance, can overclock and doesnt need to have loads of other features for cheaper than £100 that would be great, also the Ram is £120 here for the cheapest I can find, but im sure I wont get cheaper in ram. Thanks for all the help guys, really appreciate it
  7. Im pretty sure my RAM is just DDR3 but the z170 i am looking at on amazon says it supports DDR3, no mention of DDR3L. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B013TAU4IU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE Another motherboard I am also just found supports both tho, still havent found out if it an overclock or not yet. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014QPFSOC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
  8. Not in my country it isn't, I am from UK and cheapest i7 without mobo is near £300 itself which is roughly what i am calculating for the i5 and motherboard. Sadly my country overcharges way too much for technology. Thanks anyways
  9. For overclocking would you reccommend the Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3-DDR3 Motherboard ?
  10. I don't think I will go for an i7, the price is a bit steep for me to buy that and a motherboard, thanks anyways
  11. Thanks for the CPU reccommendations, im looking up some benchmarks at the moment on them, Any other motherboards other than a z270 as they dont seem to have ddr3 support. I see the Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 and a Gigabyte H170-HD3 has ddr3 support, are these any good? Im probably looking more at the cheaper board but if it isn't great I will wait a while longer before I will buy
  12. Hey I already built an entry level budget gaming pc a couple of month back with the current specs: CPU - AMD A10 7850k Quad Core 3.7/4 Ghz OC to 4.2GHz Cooler - Cooler Master 212x RAM - 16GB 1600MHz GSkill Sniper GPU - Sapphire RX480 4GB Nitro+ Motherboard - Gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2 PSU - Cooler Master B500 VER.2 HDD - WD 1TB I noticed a huge bottleneck issue with the processor and GPU, hence I am hoping to upgrade the CPU (And hence motherboard) Would an i5 6600k with a Gigabyte B150M-HD3 be suitable to remove this bottleneck? If you know any cheaper upgrades that remove the bottleneck I would appreciate the reccommendation (I would like an unlocked processor as I enjoy trying overclocking) I am hoping to still use the same components just replace the cpu and motherboard. -Thanks
