  1. OK, that makes me feel a bit better about keeping it_ Thanks
  2. I recently received my new MSI Gaming M7 from Amazon and the motherboard box did not come with any kind of plastic wrap or security tape making the box easy to open. If this box was in a retail setting anyone could open the box and examine all of the contents in the box. Is this how MSI ships their MB's? I would call it an open box because everything else I've ordered for my new build has been well secured. This does not seem normal to me. I called MSI customer service and the women acted like she didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about. It makes me uncomfortable
  3. I do not understand why G-Sync commands such a high price. Is it because Nvidia is charging a high license fee...why? Just because they can? It seems manufactures are losing out on sales and Nvidia seems greedy. Or, is it because a major hardware upgrade is required on the manufactures' end of things? Well you know the old saying: "Make Hay While The Sun Shines"
  4. I've been using a 3440x1440 IPS LG 34" UW for about a month now and I'll never go back to a 1080p 16:9. My UW has the same vertical real estate as my old 27" WS with about 8" more horizontal real estate. Gaming is great and much more immersive. The Z35P is way overpriced for being a VA panel. If it was an IPS panel then the price would be more reasonable. The 1800R curve is a little more than my 1900R and that's a good thing. The 34" Samsung CF791 is also a VA panel, 100Hz refresh rate, a curve of 1500R, and can be found on sale for $700.00 at times. The design of the Z35P just doesn't work for me.
  5. The LG 34CB88-P I mentioned above is almost identical too, and is the commercial version of, the LG 34CB88. Here is the link to the LG product page which describes the LG 34CB88-P's features and has it listed at $1,761.99.
  6. I just picked up the LG 34CB88-P from Newegg and it's an amazing panel. The curve is great with awesome colors and viewing angles. I've been playing games like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Doom, Fallout 4, and many others at mostly ultra settings without a problem. This monitor can be overclocked to 80Hz and that is what I have it running at. You need a powerful GPU to run it and I'm using a GTX 1070. I picked it up about a month ago when it was on sale for around $650.00 and I've noticed the price goes up and down.
  7. As a content creator and graphic designer you are better off going with the 34UC98 as that is a 3440 x 1440 display whereas the 34UC79G-B is only 2560 x 1080 and that is why it can handle a higher refresh rate. The 34UC79G-B is the newer version of the 34UC79G. The 34UC98 is also the same as the 34UC88 except it supports Thunderbolt and costs more. If you also work in an Apple environment then Thunderbolt would be handy. I recently purchased the 34CB88-P from Newegg when it went on sale three weeks ago. The 34CB88-P is virtually identical to the 34UC88 except it is classified by LG as a commercial grade monitor. The 34CB88-P looks fantastic. It has a very good curve and for gaming its amazing. I'm using a GTX 1070 and have been able to use most Ultra settings. All of the monitors support FreeSync and if your using an AMD card you can take advantage of that. I've been able to overclock my monitor to 80Hz with FreeSync disabled.
  8. I though calling it an UltraWide would fit the bill.
  9. I purchased the LG 34CB88-P two weeks ago. That monitor is related to the LG 34UC88 and the LG 34UC98. If you divide 21 by 9 it comes out to 2.333...
  10. Yeah, the old encryption issue problem. The fingers that pull the strings are bound to get tired one day.
  11. Thanks. I've tried VLC in the past and it's pretty good. The LG burner I'm using is actually Blu-ray compatible. I'm going to install VLC and play with that.
  12. I think I made a mistake and it should be 2.35:1 and not 1.35:1. I'll go back and edit the opening post. Thanks
  13. I first tried Window's Media Center and then I tried Window's Media Player. I haven't tried any third party software.
