  1. Tinnitus <insert Archer reference> Got to have some noise otherwise I'd go insane...
  2. DVD/Blu-Ray Rental Kiosk spread across America. They popped up sometime around/before Blockbusters demise. I wish we could get crave TV here in the states.... I would literally pay for it to watch nothing else other Letterkenny. I'm just sayin'...
  3. I did a search and didn't see anything on this... I just got the text invite from Redbox. It's in a public Beta (in America) at the moment. http://www.redbox.com/ondemand-movies Hereis a link to the Engadget article, it is about a week old but I never heard anything on the subject till today. I remember back in the day when I think Redbox teamed up with Verizon? Way back when... The original Redbox Streaming service was subscription based and as I recall didn't offer the latest movies for streaming. It would appear that you can now get the latest movies on a per movie basis. Personally, I don't see this doing all that great. (Kind of like last time), but I suppose it gives the user another alternative to Netflix, Hulu, Roku, Amazon, and whatever Disney/fox is coming out with. It will be interesting to see if the RedBox streaming service takes off this time. Link to RedBox site directly.(thanks SansVarnic) Jeremy
  4. Soooo... That's interesting. I've always wondered why I subconsciously avoid photographic evidence of my existence, and now I know. Lol
  5. I'm sure that Nvidia will sponsor a video about this card with Linus in 1- infinity years... ETA: I keep getting these no interest credit card checks in the mail, do you guys think this will run crysis?
  6. Whoa, an Apple thread? Basically, do any necessary upgrades and apply patch if in High Sierra... I might have to swing by my local best buy... You know, to sample... Things.
  7. TLDR at bottom. Man that got long. I remember circuit city was my personal go-to store back in the day... Then, they went bankrupt, competition from Best buy... Whom has pretty much turned into a showroom, and carries limited stock, especially on PC components. RadioShack... That company had it coming. They did not adapt well.. I loved shopping there, even if it was way overpriced. Being able to pick up components, etc.. was a plus. Enter The internet... All brick and mortar stores in the US that are planning for the future, are offering some form of buy online, pick up in store. HomeDepot, a traditional building goods store, sells TVs online. Free shipping to your local store, and free shipping most orders over a set dollar amount. Sears, once the go-to for anything, and a super old company is down for the count, hasn't turned a profit in a decade.. it's a matter of time for them. Wal Mart deployed an interesting strategy, that forced the closures of multiple local business across the nation, and once they had the location, they had the business and the demand. Which enabled them to dictate prices to suppliers. They figured it out early on. JC-Penny started selling major household Appliances to try and snag any business it can.... Macy's is struggling after buying up lots of other chains and trying to expand it's operations... They have closed thousands of stores in the past several years... TLDR; anyone that has worked in the retail industry in the last 15 years, has seen a huge shift in the way things are done and handled. My point is, you either adapt and overcome, or you don't. We all know what happens then... Oh I member..... PS. As someone who has previously worked in retail, I know exactly where Linus's is coming from. I'm roughly the same age and I've seen the changes happen first hand. I'm so glad I'm not in retail anymore.. I do I.T. work now ???
  8. As previously mentioned....^ INSTRUCTIONS HERE Having said that, you will need a processor in order to update your bios. You may or may not be able to get into the bios in order to flash it with the 7700K. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. The alternative is to buy a cheap Celeron, possibly used, and use that to update the bios. It'd probably be worth it to contact ASRock and see if they help you determine which BIOS revision that your motherboard has first. You may find out that you need a BIOS update in order to support an inexpensive Celeron..... Food for thought.
  9. https://videocardz.com/73764/asus-releases-first-official-benchmark-results-of-geforce-gtx-1070-ti-strix This just popped up on my news feed...
  10. For what it is worth, I ran an 2GB EVGA GTX 950 SC+ for a brief moment on my DG41RQ, until I switched it out for an Inspiron motherboard with an I5-2350(?), Then finally to my current Gigabyte ga-z77-hd3.... I gave the Inspiron board to my younger brother, who uses it with a 2GB GTX 650ti..... So yeah, buy the card you want and don't listen to "Expert" retail salesman. Jeremy ETA: I did do the socket 771 mod on my DG41RQ. It still works and houses a Xeon E5450 with Windows 10 pro. I will point out that I had issues upgrading to win 10 from win 7, while using the Xeon processor. The processor lacks a certain instruction set that the upgrade "requires". It runs fine, once installed...
  11. I have one of those graphics cards somewhere... I'm pretty sure it's a keplar. I'm not sure what your intentions are with it, but you can actually do a mild overclock on it. It's not a good card.
