  1. I remember a while back you talked about poking at linux a little bit. With the talk about "Oh no not MS office on w10 aaaaaaa...a..a.a" it sparked that you were fiddling. So.... What did you guys poke and fiddle with? What made you stop using it for fun if you did? As a linux user of 10 years I like seeing what generic newbs tried doing, and since Linus' idea of a server is just taking apart an alienware and putting it in a server case did he fiddle with it too? Thanks
  2. Well I hope Luke does stuff soon. I'm looking forward to it if true.
  3. There is no definitive guide to linux. There are some things to jump off from to get in the ever flowing river, but there is no "HOW TO LINUX" thing anywhere. Workflows are different, DE's are different, everyone has their own choices. There are generic recommendations though... Heres mine. Go get Netrunner 17 and learn the basics of KDE (the desktop environment). Learn the basic uses of it and maybe tackle the package manager in the terminal (apt-get). Learn the wiki's and go on IRC when you have a question. If you have problems, learn what to ask where or what to google. Otherwise, dive in yourself.
  4. Hello all. I'm from the Level1 forums and we're rather excitable about linux. Obviously. What I was interested i though was why LTT is only on windows? I can watch WAN or a lot of the basic stuff around Windows 10 and see consistent complaints. So why not look at something like ubuntu? Or Netrunner (a Debian Distro that has some good work into it)? Or any of the other distros? I game, make gaming videos, everything. I do all I want to do in linux with no issues. I watch tech channels and see a lot of downplaying on windows 10 and all the crap microhaft pulls but no one want to fix anything! Nor try something else! "Well my windows install is borked, time to reinstall, but Ill have to do it in a month all over again". Are there rumors about linux gaming being bad? Not good enough office stuff? Drivers and hardware support? Whats wrong with it and why isn't there LTT linux content (not tech quickies)?
