My Old Toshiba Satellite Laptop AMD E450 APU An old Dell Optiplex Desktop Pentium 4 My entire family also have tablets that get used quite a bit now as well, all different brands. Sister has an iPad, Mum has a Lenovo, Dad has a Samsung and I have a Huawei. The iPad does mean the Lenovo laptop doesn't get that much use now and tbh if I wasn't at uni my laptop wouldn't get much use either.

So glad I made it over 500k points. First folding event and just a single GTX 1070 folding while I did uni work and taking a break when playing games and sleeping. Pretty proud tbh.

I'm no expert but I would expect that if you want to keep costs low then a webcam will be cheaper than a DSLR. I have the C920 and I haven't been disappointed. I think the problem with using a DSLR, iirc from when I looked into it, was that you had to make sure you had HDMI out and that the output could be made clean. Like no grids or battery indicators or anything like that and to get one with good video quality and that for under £200 was a bit of a stretch. You also need a capture card to do that which is another added expense. Things may have changed in the year since I looked but that's what I remember being the problem.

It's not massively cheaper at the low end, the advantage to building your own is that you get all standard parts. With some prebuilts you can get really non standard motherboards and power supplies that really limit upgrade potential

Legit have never had this issue. Every pair of suit trousers I've ever had has had space for my Galaxy S8 and then some. But I do see your point. Dont get me wrong I think having phones fold small is great for everyone, not just people who wear clothing designed for female bodies

Okay I've said it before and I'll say it again. Big phones that fold smaller are freaking cool.
 
Now I'm not going to get the Motorola Razr. It's simply too expensive. It's also a first gen product. There will be some issues. But maybe in a few years I might be pocketing a Razr (or something like it).
 
I hate that there's a notch. But assuming you can block off the top of the screen like you can on other phones I would be okay with it cause the overall top of the phone is curved. It would be interesting to know what it's like to try and press buttons on the bottom try on the home screen with that chin there but overall I really like the Razr.
 
I can see a lot of advantages to flip phones coming back. People like larger displays. They're great for watching videos, playing games, and scrolling through twitter. But large phones are not the most practical in a lot of cases. I'm fortunate to have large pockets in my jeans because I wear male clothing. But female clothing often doesn't have pockets or if they do then they're smaller and can't take a Galaxy Note 10.
 
I think the specs of the Razr leave a lot to be desired. I understand they wanted to make the phone no thicker than the Razr of yesteryear, but a 2 year old CPU, tiny battery, and no MicroSD card slot on a $1500 phone, that's pretty damn steep, even for a folding phone. Samsung proved that you can fold and have high end specs. We can only hope that the Razr 2 has more up to date specs.

A combination of a few things:
University Work - This is a big one. A lot of spreadsheets. A lot of reading notes. A lot of downloading tutorial questions. Committee Stuff - I'm on 2 committees at University. I'm the treasurer for my hall committee which means I spend a lot of time doing accounts, ordering stuff, and booking stuff for events (or paying for stuff other people book). I'm also the Publicity Rep for my uni's Scottish Country Dance Society so that means creating a lot of Facebook events, and sending emails inviting people. Generally consuming content - I'm a Uni student so I don't have a TV (and I wouldn't be able to afford a TV license anyway) which means most of my Netflix, YouTube, Floatplane content is consumed through my PC. Also my best speakers are connected to my TV as well so it's used for music when I'm in my room. Communicating - I am one of the rare people born this century that can type long messages a lot faster on a keyboard than I can on a touchscreen (even with a swipe keyboard) so I tend to respond to a lot of messages on things like Facebook using my computer as well. I also use Discord on my PC a lot more than on my phone.

See this is where I think the issue lies. Not in clickbaity thumbnails or titles which are what people complain loudly about but in the content itself. Personally I don't dislike the content. For me it's a way of escaping into a sort of tech voyeurism. Like I'll never own an 8K camera until they become mainstream. But seeing them mess around with them is fun to watch (at least for me). Do I miss some of the more mess around with a jank ass computer content. Yeah but at the same time I think LTT needs to move not only with the times but also with the size of their channel. They wouldn't be able to sustain growth in the way they have if they were still shooting unboxings out of Linus' garage. I don't find all of it shallow. There are some videos that are more obviously a bit rushed but on the whole I don't mind the direction the channel is going in. I mean I still pay for floatplane

A blanket statement of "anyone who cares about tech would dislike apple" is counter productive to.... everything. There's a large volume of people who "care about technology" that don't align with your thinking. I am one of those.

I daily drive iOS because I need a phone that "just works". I don't have the ability, the time, or the desire to try and tweak with an Android phone trying to get it to work (or continue to work) when I need the device, and I need it functioning. I would like to use android more because of some of the usability and more openness, but I went through an unsuccessful string of multiple android devices, running multiple flavors of Android (don't remember the version), from multiple different manufacturers before I finally gave up and moved over to the Apple ecosystem with my iPhone 4s. I drove that phone literally until it died on me, about a month after the iPhone 8 was released. I moved onto the 8. It's still a larger phone than I would like. Since then, the only issue I've had is the failure of the home button on my 4s after about three years of use.
Clickbait thumbnails and titles are a fact of life with YouTube now. There was a video (vlog? I don't remember) on the subject some time back (before the office was shuffled around). In it was the claim that clickbait titles/thumbs actually increase viewership substantially enough to be relevant to production. We don't have to like it, but it's dictation outside of LTT's control if you ask me. They're just playing the game by the rules set in place.

I don't particularly care for the product placements either. None of what they have on their store really applies to me either (outside of their water bottles, though I already have enough of them), so it's not something that allures me in. Their sponsor spots and placements are part of running their business though. I am among those that use an adblocker, unapologetically at that as well, particularly with focus on Google services. Because of this, I partake in supporting the sponsor spots and lttstore plugs. I also use their affiliate link when I purchase from Amazon.

Will preface this with that I have limited Linux use but have used Ubuntu a bit both personally and at uni:

I'm speaking as someone who has used Windows since they were 4, and Android since they were 12. I don't really see myself switching to an iPhone or a Mac anytime soon but there are some things they could do to make things more appealing.
Stop prioritising design over performance and practicality By this I mean have decent thermal solutions in "pro" devices, remove features from your devices that people don't need or are being superceded by something just as good. For example, when TouchID was removed they added FaceID which works well too. But there's no denying that removing the headphone jack and the only way to use wired headphones is to use a lightning connector adapter is idiotic. Plenty people need to use wired headphones or aux cables and given how breakable lightning connectors seem to be (they are always breaking), it is annoying to see. And even more annoying that android manufacturers seemed to follow them. Make things easier to upgrade I'm not saying that you should be able to swap out the CPU on a Macbook, but even my £500 HP laptop lets me open it up and add more RAM or swap out an SSD without too much hard work. When I spend £1000+ on a laptop, I want to be able to add more RAM or storage. Stop branding everything as Pro I don't disagree with branding the Mac Pro as "Pro". It's clearly for professional workers. And I guess you could argue that the Macbook Pro is aimed at professionals on the go. But the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max. Come on. No. That is BS. If you want to call it something else do something like what Samsung did with the S10 and have the cut down S10e, the standard S10 and the larger S10+. That makes sense and doesn't try to pass of a phone as something for professionals which it just isn't. Adopt universal standards And I really do mean UNIVERSAL! Ever heard of USB-C Apple? Maybe you should try it. It's just like Lightning, but more durable and compatible with everything. You even have it on your Macbooks. So maybe put it on your phones too!!! I could go on but it's 1.30am and my copious amounts of hot chocolate is wearing off and I still need to finish looking over some maths notes so yeah, just a few thoughts

More from personal experience than anything else. Lightning cables break more often than type C cables. Normally either the cable connections at the lightning end breaks or the entire metal part of the connector breaks off. No one I've ever spoken to has had that happen to a type C cable
