  1. Fair point, I could eliminate possibility of Windows causing issue. However, this WiFi card doesn't support Linux . For this board, yes there is ERP in the BIOS. But it has been disabled by default and never enabled.
  2. Hello everyone, I have right on my hands is a very confusing situation. Long story short, I have recently built a new system. The specifications are as follows: - CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB 3200Mhz [32GB Total] Mobo: Gigabyte B450M S2H m-ATX GPU: MSI RTX 2060 SUPER Ventus GP OC | 8GB GDDR6 PSU: Super Flower Silver ECO 80+ Silver Full Modular 600W Casing: Tecware Nexus M TG m-ATX WiFi: TP-Link TX50E AX3000 Storage: 1. Adata XPG SX8200 Pro NVMe SSD 512GB 2. Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM The issue that I am facing currently is that the WiFi card is not being detected by Windows. My motherboard has 2 PCIe 1X slots and 1 PCe 16X slot. The 16x slot is currently populated with my GPU for display. These are some of the things I've done to attempt to solve the issue. Ensured that the WiFi card is working with another desktop lying around. Dug through/ Refreshed detected devices after restarts through Device Manager. Installed/ Reinstalled WiFi network drivers obtained from TP-Link's website Removed all overclock/ XMP Profiles applied Tested with both PCIe x1 slots Updated BIOS to the latest version (As of 02/10/2020 - F51) Disabled Fast Startup/ Ultra Fast Startup Searched the entirety of the BIOS to find any Disable/ Enable PCIe option but to no avail. Ran Windows network devices resetting commands ( netsh winsock reset, netcfg -d) Made WWAN AutoConfig services to run automatically. Restarted the PC many many times The frustrating thing is Gigabyte's BIOS doesn't include detected PCIe devices or a Board Explorer option like how MSI does. Any help that can be contributed will be much appreciated. Thank you. P.S. Attached is the PDF for my motherboard's user manual. This should come in handy as it covers all BIOS options and hardware as well. mb_manual_b450m-s2h_e_v1.pdf
  3. @adwilson99, Thank you so much for your input! it's been so long since I last attempted any further after the post got a little stale. I've checked out your site as well and there are plenty of resources useful for any JOI Book 150 users. I currently do not have my JOI Book 150 with me, but I'll definitely give it a go once it's back with me. Thank you so much once again!
  4. Sorry for the late reply, was sleeping time for my timezone. @will4623 It is an internal WiFI Adapter I'm trying to get working on. @Chunchunmaru_ Already updated both for the AppCenter and via terminal, none working yet.
  5. @will4623 Not exactly what you mean but currently as it stands, I have my external USB to Ethernet dongle attached and I'm running an ethernet back to my router. That's how I'm able reply this post for now. And if you are meaning via WiFi, no. The WiFi is still broken. Not currently using it, need help with it.
  6. @firelighter487From what I'm aware, no, Elementary OS does not have a driver manager. And yeah, I agree, my previous trials with Ubuntu 18.04 which Elementary OS 5.0 Juno is based on does support. Either way, still need help for now >.<
  7. @firelighter487, Thanks for the quick reply. performing lsusb in terminal does seem to bring up something that is related to my WiFi card. Although nothing seems to suggest directly that it is my WiFi model. Highlighted option in Terminal seems to just be my bluetooth which is working fine.
  8. I just got a new budget notebook that is not exactly well known (JOI Book 150) for quite a good price. Immediately decided that Windows 10 is a poor choice to be running on it. And so I decided to pop in Elementary OS 5.0 Juno on it after debating between a few distros. And behold. Everything thing including all the special functions of the keyboard to my Bluetooth works perfectly except for my WiFi. I'm a complete beginner when it comes to anything Linux related, so feel free to guide me through step by step. I've tried typing in terminal sudo lshw -C network to list down all my network related hardware and yes, I do see both my wireless network and ethernet listed. My ethernet is via a USB Ethernet dongle as this notebook doesn't have an Eternet port. I do know after some research that the current drivers installed is some kind of generic driver for my WiFi card, which seems to be a hit or miss at the moment. Most of the time the WiFi would show extremely poor signal strength despite me sitting 2 feet away from my router and any attempt to connect to it with a correct password will result in an unsuccessful connection. It did randomly work once after I restarted it and was gone again the next time I turn it back on. Any help on perhaps getting the correct drivers installed for my WiFi or anything that can get this issue solved will be great as I'm really eager to test out this distro without the WiFi handicapping my experience. Much thanks in advance. P.S. The attached image is the output of said terminal command, if its any help.
  9. Oh no, I'm clean installing because I have multiple devices that I'm upgrading to SSD from HDD, hence the clean installs. Not bothered with cloning as I want a clean Windows
  10. Thanks to @skydecboot and @homeap5 for replying to my question. @skydecboot -I'd do MBR, but it will then make it as a UEFI-csm with Rufus. I want UEFI non-csm. In fact that is how I'm installing with UEFI directly as it stands for now. - As mentioned in a previous reply, I've tried all available USB ports; 2.0 or 3.0 ports. Capacity for the pendrives I used are all either 8GB or 16GB only, no worries there. @homeap5 - Well I'd agree with you if all 3 of my pendrives were there same but they are not. They are as follows:- --- Kingston Data Traveler 16GB with USB 3.0 --- Some random generic 8GB pendrive with USB 2.0 --- SanDisk 8GB with USB2.0 ( Can't remember said model ) All these pendrive can and are bootable, tested and confirmed. - Old Rufus, new Rufus, I've tried all, variety of version but none worked still. - Yumi seems to be a viable option too, will update its result once I've tested. - None of what you mentioned. I'm doing clean installs of Windows, not upgrading or converting/ dual booting from any other OS. P.S. Geez doing an upgrade from Vista? That horrible OS sure brings back memories of 'difficulties' with it. Either way, thanks to you both for replying once again.
  11. --bump-- Anyone that can help me out? Would be much appreciated
  12. Yes I am. True I could directly just use Media Creation Tool to help me make it but I'd really rather have the Windows iso with me and that method doesn't seem to be too reliable to me as I seem to get random errors from it; ie random pendrive ejected while writing to it. Would rather use Rufus.
  13. Tried every single ports on the Desktop/ Laptop. And yes, tried with different USB interfaced pendrives as well.
  14. I'll just very quickly sum up my issue. Long story short, I've been trying for months to boot into a Windows UEFI Bootable pendrive. Here's what I've done that should clearly allow it to boot no problem. -Used Rufus to make my bootable pendrive -Selected GPT, with UEFI (non csm) with Fat32 file format. -Disabled Secure Boot and Fast Boot on the PC that I'm going to boot my bootable UEFI Windows pendrive into. -Always downloaded the latest Windows 10 image from Microsoft site via Media Creation Tool. -Tried the same thing over 5 different laptops and desktops that does support UEFI. -Tried with 3 different pendrives; 1 runs in USB3.0 and 2 more that runs in USB2.0 Genuinely out of ideas on how to solve this issue. Much appreciated to anyone that can help me with it. Note: I do select both Architecture when prompted to download via the Media Creation Tool. Doubt it'll affect anything, but I'll just jot it down here in case it does make a difference. Edit: The error I always get is B1InitializeLibrary failed 0xC00000bb.
  15. That's actually quite an excellent idea Will most certainly do so
