  1. No problem, the build is good for its intended price. Whilst choosing the case if aesthetics isn't a problem, getting a low budget one which has decent air flow would be good. If you're looking for a nice case, I'd advise getting the NZXT S340 or the Elite version. If this is the first time you're building a PC consider doing some research on ESD and how you should handle internal components, whether you want positive or negative air flow, etc. Watching some YouTubers such as BitWit, JayzTwoCents or PcPartPicker should help a lot.
  2. Yes, it's good. I'd advise swapping your 5400RPM HDD for this 7200RPM HDD which is cheaper: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/MwW9TW/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd10ezex
  3. What exactly is the build being used for sure a 450w can be overkill or not suitable?
  4. I'd advise going for a reputable brand rather than buying an unbranded PSU. There's several factors to take into account such as reliability, damage to your internal components, cost, etc. However, many PSU manufacturers offer fully modular, semi modular and non modular PSU which are fairly cheap and come with great warranty. I'd advise getting one from a brand such as EVGA or Corsair. Personally the risk of unbranded or low end PSUs are generally not worth the risk.
  5. Depends on the case you're buying, some cases come with fans others are just simply shells. You can use the stock fans or you can purchase fans which offer more features such as RGB, lower noise level, higher RPM, etc. The CPU should either be cooled by an air cooler or aio cooler, I wouldn't advise using the stock cooler which comes with some CPUs such as the Intel I5. With the GPU they normally come with fans which are already built into the component. In addition, if you want the best performance try and stick with positive air flow.
  6. It really does depend on several variables such as efficiency, risk, cost, etc. Sure with an air cooler there's no risk and they're generally cheaper than an AIO cooler. However, performance wise an AIO can generally keep your CPU much cooler however just because water will keep your CPU temps down for the first 30 minutes doesn't guarantee a stagnating result of temps for using an AIO cooler. It can take longer for an AIO cooler to cool down than one of an air cooler. I wouldn't suggest picking the x61 since it's quite loud. The x62 is really nice with the customisation of RGB but for the price tag i wouldn't suggest it, since it's also closely matched with the x61 performance. 7. Hello, I'm going to be getting all my PC components within the next few weeks and was wondering if there were any great pieces of software available, free or purchased, to monitor my PC for stability, performance, thermal temps, etc. In addition, do you have any tips of procedures which I should complete once I've built my PC? Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on the thread.
  8. Thanks both of you for the replies, really appreciated. Yeah it's going to be AIO cooled. Also, LoGiCalDrm, thanks for the suggestion.
  9. Thanks to both of you for the speedy replies and informative content, really appreciate it .
  10. Hello, I've been conducting some research into the front panel connectors of the NZXT S340 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case, see here and installing them onto the MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON, see here. Looking at both the manuals of the S340 and Z270 I'm confused about some of the connectors whether they're supposed to be positive or negative. This is the diagram of the Z270 motherboard: This is the diagram of the S340 case: Looking at the Z270 connector 2 (+) and 4 (-) Power LED these match up to the diagram of the S340 case. The Power Switch connector also matches to the diagram of the S340. However, the HDD LED doesn't match up. On the S340 it doesn't indicate which is positive or negative. Am I right in thinking it doesn't matter which orientation this connector connects to the motherboard or is there an indication on the connector itself? Thanks for viewing and commenting on the thread.
  11. Hello, Is the fan setup shown below which I've designed good for a gaming build as well as being used to develop games running UE4? In addition, do you have any suggestions of any exceptional fan setup layouts which could help with my build? Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my thread.
  12. Thank you for your inputs and recommendations.
  13. Hello, I've decided and been recommended to purchase the NZXT Kraken X61 AIO liquid cooler, see here. However, upon researching the product it appears the fans are too loud YT VIDEO (@3.30). I've decided that I'll choose 2x Corsair Air Series AF140, see here to replace the fans on the radiator. Do you believe this will be a better alternative and has anyone here personally used the AF140 and has some suggestions. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.
  14. Thanks everyone for your inputs and taking the time view and comment on the thread, likes to everyone . Thanks Enerycore for your detailed parts list and I'll definitely be getting the X61 rather than the X62. Thanks for those who mentioned the 750w PSU was an overkill for the build. Getting pulled in many directions, but I'll conduct more research and comeback with a final parts list. Thanks again.
  15. Hello, I'm building a new PC which will be used for games development, running UE4, as well as playing games on high/max settings. These are the current parts for the PC: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/rnDzRG I've decided to pick either of these liquid coolers listed below, but I'm open to suggestions of both performance and aesthetics within the same price range: NZXT Kraken X62 Liquid CPU Cooler OR Corsair H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler In addition, I've decided that I'll most likely be getting the following peripherals, but I'm open to suggestions of better alternatives within the same price range: Monitor: BenQ GL2460HM 24.0" Keyboard: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard — Cherry MX Red From the parts listed on PCPP do you believe they're excellent for the intended purpose? I'm opened to suggestions and thanks for taking time to view my thread.
