Tannah got a reaction from Dr_Whom in AMD prevents motherboard manufacturers from releasing beta BIOS for Ryzen 5000 on X370
One thing I would question here is: where did AMD say that All AM4 sockets would be backward compatible?
All I can find is the Statement from AMD which confirm AM4 motherboards will be supported until 2020. The press has said other things, but I have not seen a statement from AMD saying anything different? If there is a statement fro AMD could someone link it please?
This isn't all that different from what AMD did on the AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+.

Well Asus did note they tinkered with the memory timings.
If you happy enough with it then great!

If not try going back to 1202, as this sounds like a memory timing issue introduced by the newer Bios's.
I've seen people complain about it on overclock.net
As your not running a 5000 series CPU, the BIOS above 1202 aren't essential for you. It should not hurt anything to try.
Just make sure that each time you flash the bios you load Optimized Defaults, this is supposed to clear incompatible settings. If you don't the old setting and old memory training, can persist causing headaches.

That's a bit of a tough one without some more information.
The first thing I suggest doing is turn on verbose mode for shutdown and startup
    https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-turn-on-verbose-booting-mode-in-windows-10-with-a-registry-edit/

This might give you a idea of where its hanging up.

The other thing to look at is your Event Viewer: Right click on your start menu and select Event Viewer, expand Custom Views, and Click on Administrative Events. and look at the time where you were shutting down, Be aware there is normally a ton of warnings and errors in the event viewer, most can be ignored. You might find the information here. Some People often find the event viewer a bit intimidating.

Or there is a third party alternative called NTLite that does everything sysprep can do but with a nice fully featured GUI.

Also if you have a server available with SMB shares I'd look at PXE. Using it you can deploy a custom Windows image onto the server then PXE boot into WinRE on all 50 machines and load the image up (its possible to automate this using a batch script). This way you can do all 50 machines without needing to walk around booting each from a USB or DVD.

Brilliant, let's mess with how things look instead of fixing settings. I don't really like settings but that's probably just because I am used to using control panel, who knowns I might start to get used to it eventually. The problem right now is that both settings and control panel exist simultaneously, and not everything can be found in both places. They really need to pick one (probably going to be settings) and make sure it can do everything the other one can, that way you aren't hopping between the two looking for a setting.

Careful, if anyone is capable of somehow making it worse, it's Microsoft.

And all this while STILL the search function is a complete pile of crap, dark mode not being implemented completely and major updates bricking machines around the world regularly. Why is Microsoft talking about "modernizing the Start Menu and File Explorer"?!

More UI changes? Why not just leave it alone and work on getting dark mode consistent like adding it to task manager?
I'm not excited for more UI changes that weren't needed, and its too bad that MS are forcing UI changes such as taking away the Windows 7 control panel functions and forcing the crappy settings app where settings are all over and more confusing.

    This scares me, a lot.
Windows 10 already seems to be having an identity crisis, with rather large UI changes happening like every year and none of them are consistent.
Secondly, a lot of the UI stuff Microsoft has been focusing on recently is shit. Stuff like Windows 10X which I wouldn't want anywhere near my pc because it looks like a smartphone UI, and a very basic one at that.

Makes me glad I postpone updates for a few days with Windows 10 pro.
I was running into BSOD on fresh windows 10 installs, while having the computer plugged into the internet. As the update was being pushed on initial look for updates. This appeared to take place before the Group Policy's were pushed to the computer.
To get around the issue swapped to using a USB stick to install, rather than network boot. While disconnecting from the net while installing windows 10.

No its a fact that when the new CEO took over that he pretty much laid off most of the Windows testing team. They are not doing testing like they once did. Also I am remember correctly. The only issues I ever had with a WIndows update was related to a service pack. Which is to be expected. Never had any issues under XP or Windows 7. Hell I dont remember having issues under Windows 98 as well. Not to the extent they have now. Every month there is an article about people have issues. Never seen that with any other verisons of Windows in the internet age.

Well they can put a stop to that. They choose not to.

There is a modified bios in the wild that fix's the problem, but it is not a official bios from Asus. It goes by the number 0002. the 0002 is the 2703 + fan fix beta.

My Two Cents are be aware the Ryzen 3600 can run very hot. If you google "ryzen 3600 overheating" you will get tones of hits.
I've personally seen a Ryzen 5 3600 idle at 43c, and under load hit +88c, under a NH-D15s which is well reputed Air cooler.
According to AMD this is not a consistent thing, Its Very Hit and miss as to whom is affected.

Well I can give a bit of anecdotal information, I also have an X470 Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero.
I did find that running MSI Duke 2070, and a M.2 NVME PCIE on the CPU M.2 slot did cause a degradation on GPU benchmarks.
But I think I had setup the perfect storm for that. I don't know if I would have noticed as much in games tho. Also if I had run a SATA m.2 NVME it may have been different too.
I know by the specs I didn't expect to see a difference but I did.
