The Price is Rice

Upgraded my PC from a GTX 1080Ti to a 4070Ti. Now PC keeps restarting. Long it lasted was about 10 before is restarts. GPU load doesn’t seem to matter. Even idle on desktop, it will restart. Seems stable in safe mode so i feel like its driver or software related. Things i have done to fix the issue: I used DDU to do fresh driver install, i have updated motherboard bios, i have monitored temps, switch between pcie gen 3-4, clear cmos. Short of doing a clean installation of windows, i am at a loss. Thoughts? Did i just get a defective GPU? my system is as follows: Ryzen 5800x Asus Strix B550-i asus tuf RTX 4070Ti Two 8gb Gskill trident z EVGA 850 watt SFX PSU

Getting really annoyed with IOS. I keep randomly getting songs in my music library that get greyed out and when i try to play them i get the message: “This song is not currently available in your country or region”. 90% of my library is ripped from CD’s i own and were synced to my Iphone Xr via iTunes. I keep doing all of the thing apple recommends before I finally cave a delete said song from my library, go dig up the CD and re-rip the album. Most of the time its random songs in my library but I do have a particular album that always seems to grey out at least once a year. “Found in Far Away Places” by August Burns Red.

Thanks for the input everyone. I think i may end up going with the $400 magnius/modius stack. Sounds like that will sound much better than most for a cheaper price.

So you think the cheaper $400 stack is better sounding? You’ve tried them all i take it?

Right so i have a Modhouse Argon Mk3 on the way soon, ordered 12 weeks ago. Its coming with the balanced XLR cables from periapt so i need a DAC and AMP. (Soundcard on PC is trash. Mobo is itx so no extra slot for an internal card) My budget is around $500 usd and i want to make the most of it. Right now im between the Schiit Jotunheim 3 w/AK4490 DAC or the Monoprice Monolith THX AAA DAC/Amp. Does anyone have experience with both and prefer one over the other? Im also open to other suggestions. My must haves are: USB input Balanced 4pin XLR out > 1watt of power at 50 ohms.

Yeesshh I forgot about HDCP. Thanks for the heads up on that. Will HDCP really be an issies though since my PS3 is the original backwards compatible one so i use it primarily for old school PSX/2 games?

Hey forum peeps. Im looking to record my gaming sessions on the PS3/4 and upload to youtube later. Ive seen a few capture cards out there (ie. elgato, avermedia, etc) but im not able to find one that would best suit what im trying to do. I want it to record the game obviously but also my voice via a headset and that also supports audio pass through to a headset as i dont want to wake up the fiancé. Would definitely prefer it to hold at least an hours worth of 1080p video. What are most people using? I was told it might be easier just to record my voice on a PC separately and just splice them together. Thoughts?

Hey everyone, My brothers macbook died and he has since replaced it with a windows 10 based laptop. We pulled the HDD fro the mac book and docked it into a a USB HDD enclosure. I have tried using macdrive and HFS+ and most of what other forums have suggested but i cannot access what is on the drive. Windows Disk manager sees the drive and shows it as active but does not allow any other options and does not even show what files system it is. Thanks in advance.

Here I thought only samsung devices would suffer from swelling/exploding batteries. Here we have a pilots EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) with a battery that swelled so much it cracked the screen. Doh!!!!

Will next gen cards be that big of a step up. I know the performance gains from 9xx to 10xx series cards were pretty huge but i feel like 11xx or what ever they call it cars wont be nearly as big. Unless they they switch to some crazy fast HBM2 memory configuration but I thought those chips were still suffering from a huge shortage and are still pretty expensive.

Seems like majority concensus is 1080 Ti. I obviously would try and sell the 1070 to get some money back. Think $350 for a 8 month old ROG strix 1070 is asking too much?

Hooookay so I really want to start a custom water loop in my rig, but i figure since that will make it harder to upgrade later i should probably upgrade my GPU now. Question is, would the 1080 Ti be overkill for 1440p Gaming? I currently have a 1070 am am debating between the 1080 or the 1080Ti. Should i get the 1080 and save the extra money for better water cooling components?
