Hey guys, so i have honestly tried SO many different troubleshooting things its insane. I literally cannot for the life of me figure out why im not getting higher gpu usage which is directly impacting the fps im getting. I have a 5600x at 4.65ghz all core oc and asus tuf rtx 3080. It gets like 120-140fps on low 1440p. It SHOULD be getting close to 170-200. I really dont fucking get it. I know the issue, its low gpu usage. GPU usage sits around like 60-70s % if it was able to run at 95+% it would get those 170-200fps. I dont know how to fix this. Pc specs: 16gb 3200mhz ram 850w psu ryzen 5 5600x 4.65ghz asus tuf oc 3080 1tb nvme Theres countless videos online which all show the same thing. 5600x + 3080 getting 170-200!! fps. Their gpu usage is like 98% too. What do i do? Where am i going wrong? I fresh installed windows too when i installed my components so it cant be the windows install. I fresh installed the game as well so it cant be that. What ive tried: changing adv config file in documents and changing in game settings, no effect.

In my personal experience it has made a SIGNIFICANT difference. I know online it says it doesn't make a difference and maybe it's my specific set up. I used to boot off even a raid SSD config and a normal SSD which was a Samsung 850 500gb. Both were similar boot times. I got a new nvme m.2 drive which I installed Windows on and Holy shit my computer loads up all the way in about 4 seconds and I've changed nothing else. Compared to over 10 seconds with the sata 3 SSDs. So I guess you're mileage may vary. I run a mini itx z390 mobo btw.

My god. I only get 4.6ghz with like 1.35v but apex is crashing and I'm not sure if it's due to the overclock or something else. I set it to 4.7ghz at 1.37v let's see how it does

IDK i have the acer xg270hu and its been great, i mean i switched from a 100hz va panel to that one and i noticed yeah the colors arent as POPPY as VA (similar to IPS) but for my gaming needs and youtube watching i couldnt be happier. I have a 4k tv attached via hdmi which is oled in case i need to watch like a 4k movie or something but yeah!

I think that 4.8ghz would probably be possible. And just like previous zen cpus all of them should be overclockable to get to that point, its just amd artificially making lower clock speeds from factory to sell at different price points. Thats how the last 2 zen were correct? If so then im 99% sure this is how itll be.

They should 200% be able to hit 4.8ghz, and if they DO man oh mANNNNNNNNNNNN theyll be on par with intel in gaming and be better in everything else wow

Looks to me like most of the optimisation budget went towards the new RTX cards and not so much older ones. Why TF is there such a huge gap between 1080ti and 2080?! IT should be smaller imo.

Although its quite possible this may happen, you cant say this with hundred percent certainty considering theres factors you dont know about. How big is the market in those poorer countries? How many sales will a company lose? Theres a lot of math involved here a lot more variables at play then just saying a will result in b etc.

Look at division 2 benchmarks though, i think amd has fantastic hardware but the software is EXTREMELY lacking. On full direct x 12 like the division 2 lol look at the benchmarks, radeon 7 is beating rtx 2080ti i almost spilt coffee out of my mouth when i saw the benchmarks saying... WTF

You guys do realize the vulkun api generally performes WAY BETTER than dx12 in just about everything.

Both of you are saying you dont know the speed... well i think its quite safe to assume they will be in the high 4 ghz well beyond 4.5 mark. Isnt it already confirmed with the zen refresh that the IPC of ryzen is better than intel counter parts? So with similar clocks to intel zen should be more powerful that much i believe is a fact, the only thing ryzen was lacking was clock speed. So lets assume a normal increase from the node shrink of 20%... last zen was at 4.3ghz so 20% increase takes that to 5.15ghz... thats pretty simple, lets assume worst case 15% clock increase would take it to 4.945ghz. Dudes its impossible (pretty unlikely) for it to get less than 15% improvement in clock speed with that huge of a node shrink, so saying 5ghz isnt CRAZY by any means. Even if they get 4.8ghz worst possible case, based on their IPC they should still outperform intel. HUH? games run pretty well already across the board on all the ryzen cpus... i dont see how thats of even a remote concern. The only thing the games want is higher clocks.

Even if the CPU like previously leaked hits 5ghz, IT DEFS ISNT HITTING 5.8 i can almost bet my life on that thats how sure i am of that. But even if they manage a 5ghz boost, its literally RIP intel. Youll have better IPC than intel so faster gaming performance and with all the extra cores with AMD you already have better performance than intel in productivity so literally as they say "git fukd". I will be switching to zen 2 from my 8600k.

You sure about that? Facts speak for themselves. It sold 2.5x better than a 2013 game!!! PC gaming community since than has grown a lot more than 2.5x, in 2013 the game had a peak player count of like 16k... WOW IT DID AMAZING...NOT. They poached raja kadouri or whatever that dude didnt really put amd ahead of nvidia then so esp considering hes gotta start from scratch its safe to assume intels got nothin atleast for several years. I just want someone with the capital to come in and pour in the extensive capital like nvidia puts into their gpu dept. If someone like samsung bought out amd graphics division and poured in billions which amd cannot do then we might see them compete with nvidia again. As things stand theyve gained lots of revenue thru the cpus and now with the new ryzen theyre sure to gain lots more but then assuming they use that capital PROPERLY and invest it into the gpu division we might see the fruits of their labor like 3 years later. Were essentially stuckk with nvidia for now

I DONT DISAGREE the issue is that thought is extremely unrealistic, based on the last 5 years seeing gpu releases from both sides its not hard to see that amd is actually 1-2 generations behind in terms of tech of gpus compared to nvidia. And intel lmfao yeah maybe in like 7-10 years theyll get gtx 2080 level performance

Thats nothing except dominant. I used to be an AMD fan like you, but i realized their GPU division has been dead in the water for many many years, their cpus tho i will most likely be buying if the leaks are accurate with close to 5ghz and a crap ton of cores AT A competitive price omg sign me tf up!
