i know this is old and this reply is really late, it turned out to be bad thermal paste, i bought from a retailer called maplin and it was old and stored near a shop heater, i replaced it with some MX stuff and it works perfectly now, and stays quite cool thanks to all those who replied

well my original post was in this section so i thought i would post this here as those involved would probably see it, thanks for the suggestion though

First of all, let me apologize for my attitude in that post. i was having one of the crappiest days ever. now the obnoxious bit i was on about was the "Well we dont want to know" comment, kinda annoyed me a bit. If you want to know what im on about, just look for the "CHARGED TWICE FOR FLOATPLANE" thread. Now i should have just ignored the comment and moved on, i did message the floatplane support and as of yet still heard nothing. Anyway i cannot excuse my behavior in that thread and im sorry. ( the first reply i got could have been less obnoxious ( it has been edited but its still in my quote on there ) but thats online life ) thank you @LinusTech for replying and im personally apologizing to you. thank you @colonel_mortis for getting back to me in that thread and also i apologize fir my shitty reply. i hope you guys can look past my immaturity in that situation. @nicklmg i sent you guys an email telling you that i have been charged twice for floatplane this month. i have had no reply to my email or a refund for one of the charges. can you let me know what is going on please, also i sent a screenshot of the charges to you guys

so many idiot replies here, i have both the cpu AND the 390, the answer is the GPU bottlenecks NOT the cpu. this is on a sabertooth990fx with 16gb ram. i know its an old thread but im sick of seeing so many mis informed replies to questions that need real answers from people in the know about these setups, not someone guessing from biased benchmarks or intel fan boy rumours

nope, still overheating. i have fans cooling the socket from the rear, i have fans cooling the VRMs. nothings working. its a shame because it never used to do this, no hardware changes except the cooler to try and remedy this. im thinking maybe my cpu is dying. if it is then i seen ryzen on the horizon (no pun intended). that being said, this cpu has been really good for me in terms of performance so i will be sad to see it go. Anyway, thank you for all your help people. Dave

54c was at idle, ive kept stock clock to try it and volts at 1.39 seems to be stable

i have the Arctic MX-4 but ive tried all different kinds. it is deffo seated right.
