  1. tbh smaller the better, but nothing is set in stone yet so im open to suggestions. its essentially a NAS / Home server im wanting to build, . if i have to go with ATX thats fine, was just wondering what other people knew about on the market as i hadnt been able to find much my self
  2. id never thought of using those. always nice to have options so thanks lol i have alot of uncompressed blu ray etc files that i currently have stored on various external HDD, im wanting to consolidate in to a single media server. my reasoning for wanting more than 4 SATA is purely for expansion in the future
  3. sorry forgot to mention that, preferably AMD. looking at a R3 3200g at the moment, but i dont really have a preference either way. storage is my main driver at this point
  4. Afternoon all Can anyone reccomend a small form factor MOBO with a decent number of SATA plugs? Everything i find seems to only have 4 max i was hoping for at least 6, not exactly standard i know. Its not the end of the world if i have to go with an ATX board but figured i would see if anyone knew of anything before i change tac Thanks
  5. Evening As the title suggests at im looking for an Asus Aura ready RGB 140mm fan...but they don't seem to exist. Cooler Master do a nice looking one but it is only 120mm. Has anyone seen a 140 anywhere else? Seems odd to have a 120 but no 140 variant Thanks
  6. Just changed these thermal compound and re run real bench and prime95 and temperatures have dropped from 90 odd to just over 70. Thanks so much ?
  7. seems like the best place to start. thanks for your help
  8. Just done the real bench stress test, during the encoding the cpu got to 92 degrees. The voltage while running the test was 1.232v according to cpu-z. could air flow be an issue? my rad is in a front mounted pull config, and the case fans are both 120mm top and rear exhausts
  9. does this mean anything below 100 is fine? that seems really hot ill try real bench now, i did think the connection to the cpu could be bad. i didnt add any thermal paste to the AIO when i got it as it already had some on. altho it seemed a puny amount.
  10. Hey Guys hopefully this is a quick question for you. Im running an i7-7700k on my new build with an NZXT x52 AIO for cooling, but when i run cpu-z stress test the NZXT CAM software is recording cpu temperatures on 88+ this seems insane to me. Is this normal? i know 100% load for an extented period of time isn't exactly the norm but based on various videos on youtube etc nobody else seems to ever record anything over 78ish. advice if needed would be greatly received
  11. Makes you wonder why they include the OC wizard if they are borderline dangerous to use. I have seen other people talking about a stable overclock. I assume this means no weird load spikes or clock speed fluctuations?
  12. Hi I've just attempted my first overclock, nothing major i essentially used the wizard on the motherboard. and now while im getting much faster clock speeds (and everything else that goes with it) the CPU temp is a little worrying. I'm running an ASUS Z270E, i7-7700k with an NZXT x52 AIO and the idle temperature is around 45-50c with little spikes towards 60. I was expecting a jump in the temperature but this is nearly 20 degrees! When I've run the validator on CPU-z or the system benchmarking software from UserBenchmark when the load gets up to the 80% 90% mark the core temperatures are touching the mid 90s, it didnt get any hotter than that but lets say i was nearly about to kill the benchmark off when the load died away, i dont want to play any intensive games with it like this in case i fry something. Apologies for my epic ignorance. I've reset to factory for the time being to be safe. oh...i think the fans on the rad are in pull config? its a front mounted rad, with the rad between the case and the fans and the fans dragging air from outside in. fan set up and system stats from NZXT CAM software
  13. How frustrating. You would think the minimum you could expect would be for the ROG hardware to be compatible with each other
