My office laptop is HP 15-dy1091wm which has:
USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate)
HDMI 1.4b
From what I understand from googling, the HDMI 1.4b won't support the full resolution of the monitor @ 1440p @ 100Hz. I'd be happy to get 1440p @ 60Hz Not sure if it will work with the 3.1 Type C or not. If let's say both ports are unable to support 1440p at 60hz minimum, I might as well just get a 2560x1080 instead to save cost. Thanks!
Update:
Brought laptop back to test on my home 34". With the 34" UW as the only display (2nd device only - laptop off) I was able to get 3440x1440 at 60hz. However, when I I tried with extended display the same resolution came out as per the picture.
