  1. That is pretty tempting, and the rest of the Feature set seems really good. If it shows up soon (Within the month) here I'll take it over the Asus Pro.
  2. There's some weirdness in the product stack is why I was asking. The upcoming Asus B550-F STRIX is stated to have BIOS flashback and 2.5Gb Ethernet for example, but the Twice as expensive Prime X570-Pro has neither. I mean, the 2.5Gb LAN is a definite plus there. Plus I do like that the MSI board put the Chipset fan lower.... Looking at reviews for that board, it does seem almost too good to be true, I'd been avoiding MSI after, you know, the whole AM3 boards catching on fire debacle, and their initial x570 offerings had reinforced that outlook, but this seems really good.
  3. Budget: $400 CAD (For just the Motherboard) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Blender, Photoshop, Krita. Game wise: Titianfall 2, Destiny 2 Other details Already have on hand: Seasonic 760w Platinum PSU. 4TB WD HDD 1TB WD HDD 120gb Samsung Evo SSD 250 Samsung Evo SSD GTX 980ti Ryzen 3600 Corsair V. LPX 2x8gb 3200 Kit Reason for upgrade: Increasing compatibility issues with 10 year old Phenom II system. Overclocks can only get you so far when Youtube decoding uses 80% of the CPU. Most of my builds have been based on used platforms, so It's been "If the motherboard has lasted the last 10, 9, 8 years, it's probably fine still" and years worth of forum posts on the boards. it's a bit overwhelming going into this without years of information. The plan is to eventually replace the 3600 with a much higher end Ryzen 4XXX near the end of that product stacks life cycle. Short story: I bought the X570 AORUS ELITE, based on youtube reviews. My past experience with Gigabyte motherboards has been not good, this time proved that I still have bad luck with their products: one Sata port would lock the system if used and all other SATA drives where throwing errors when reading from them (Fresh windows install too). Looking around online, the board has not great reviews: 26% of reviews are 1 star on this board, and there's a repeated cropping up of issues with the SATA (And the RGB apparently causing crashes/stutter??) Returned it less then 24 hours after purchase. So I'm looking for a different motherboard. I've had a great experience with the Asus Crosshair IV Formula on the old Phenom II, and was tending towards their products again. I keep looking at the Asus Prime x570-Pro, because it has a goodly amount of fan headers, and I'd put the $40 into the board then a Fanhub (My existing fans are DC, not PWM, so I would need a more expensive fan controller for motherboard control.) But here's the thing. there's no stock for AM4 boards where I am, so I have to wait anyways. B550 is around the corner. So here are two questions: How bad is the teething issues on the PCI-e Gen4 on x57o and Would it be more stable on the B550? Would a higher end B550 board be a better option then a Mid-grade x570 board?
  4. Okay. Update here. And it's a freaking stupid reason as well. Turns out that for whatever reason having DVI and Display ports working at the same time causes the monitor to bug out. Running the Wacom into an HDMI port Via a cheap adapter fixes the issue.
  5. Okay. So. I managed to get it to fit on screen via Custom resolutions, but It's resulted in a very blurry and aliased image, because I'm now squishing the resolution only for it to stretch on the monitor. It's really not lending itself to a good workflow at this point. Any suggestions? If I can get a different computer with DVI-I output, I'll test to make sure it's not an issue with this computer in particular...
  6. On update 1909. No Change. "Additional Windows Products" checked. No new Updates. Manually attempting to update the Driver in Device manager; "Best Drivers for your device are already installed" Attempting to change Scaling in NVIDIA Control panel: Does nothing. Nvidia Driver version 445.75: No change. Creating a custom resolution in the Nvidia Control panel: Does not work. This has been persistent for the last six months. I honestly do not expect this to be an easy fix.
  7. The Tablet is a Wacom 20wsx running on a Windows 10 Machine, Driver 6.3.15-3 (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, & 10). Offical Cables (Not that there's a choice really; They're hardwired into the display.) Display scaling is at 100%. Resolution is set to the native 1680x1050. Its running through a gtx 980ti Graphics card, which has up-to-date drivers. The Display itself is running the Generic Windows PNP driver: I can not seem to find a Wacom specific Display driver. The display beside it is a Samsung SMB2240W with identical resolution which does not exhibit this issue. Note the Blue of the background on the other screen Quite Simply, It has stretched the display so that it's no longer all on the screen. this is NOT a Vert Position issue: The windows taskbar is happily where it's supposed to be at the bottom of the display. I have looked at the displays Menu (The on-display menu, accessed by the buttons near the VGA/DVI selector on the top Right of the display) and it appears to only have Horizontal pitch (stretch) and V and H positioning for image adjustments. It also has a Scaling menu with "Full" "1:1" and "Aspect" but it does not appear to change anything. I am at wits end with this thing. I've been trouble shooting this for months, and the last few groups I've asked about it I got "I don't see the issue" as a response, lol.
  8. Hey I know this topic is really old, and I'm not sure you're still doing anything with it, but I have an odd issue where the light effects slowly speed up more and more over time?
  9. That matches with the Backlights failure a year ago. Might be worth converting to LED. There's a way to do it.
  10. Sharp. I don't really know how to explain it, It smells sharp and like metal. Leaves a weird feeling in your throat and nose. It doesn't smell like Burning, it's it's own weird thing.
  11. Hey, so I have a Wacom 20wsx that's sorta integral to my money making potential. A few days ago it started smelling of Ozone; not super bad, but enough to get a strong whiff of it every so often - I though it might be a bad LED bulb that I just replaced at first. Further looking around the room got me a nose full of Ozone from the monitor. I'm in a bit of a Budget bind at the moment, so Having this thing die on me would be awful - Not only costly, but putting me out of an important tool as well. Currently the thing works, just fine. Popping the back plate off, I didn't see any obvious signs of an issue; Caps all lookd fine, no charred spots. I sprayed off everything with some canned air and put it back together: still smells of Ozone. Questions are mutli-fold at this point: First, how worried should I be about the monitor? Second, being In BC, Is there a place that I could take it to for servicing? Third, Would it be better to just replace it at this point? It's old, but It's still good for what I do....
  12. Hey, Putting this in Hobby because I think that's the best fit? Excuse my crude drawing. Basically, I'm trying to connect a piece of stereo equipment with unbalanced stereo output to two separate mono amplifiers, Being a bit keen on safety, I got an isolation transformer set to put between the two channels. My Issue is thus: When Plugged into each mono amp, I'm getting really bad ground hum. Like, really bad. Scary bad. Touch the connector and get tingles bad. Multi-meter gives me a connection between any combination of two of the wires heading towards the amplifiers (Both Negative Leads, Both Positive leads, positive to negative across channels) but only when plugged into the amps; unplugged there's no connection between negatives or positives if you probe it, and the connectors are isolated from ground. Both amps are plugged into the same power strip. Whats the safe solution here? I'm assuming it's making a complete circuit through the power bar; If so, what are my options? Edit: There's inductor coils on the stereo unit. Probably should have just put the + and - don't worry too much about that.
  13. I've tried all resolutions that it will let me force onto the monitor. TV is HDMI (With a Computer mode and Overscan disable) and the Monitor is DVI. As far as I can tell at this point and after talking with someone I know who's taking IT classes, it's trying to apply the 16:9 Aspect ratio to a 16:10 monitor, and I really have no clear reason why it's doing that or how to fix it.
  14. Look at where the minimize and Close buttons should be on the Wacom screen. They are not on the monitor. The Monitor does not have an adjustment to change the height of the image on screen. It is set to Native resolution; it is currently NOT displaying in Native Res because it's placing the desktop off the top edge of the monitor. I can literally hide my mouse cursor in the space not shown on screen. This Tablet functioned fine on Win 7 in Dual monitor. I honestly have no clue why it is so hard for me to explain this to you.
  15. The TV is a non-issue. The TV is fine. It's the expensive Wacom Cintiq Screen Tablet that was actually designed to work on a computer that is the issue. Tv Fine. Actual Monitor Bad. See attached.
