I first got newer versions TN 8QR
Cause I have sensitive eyes and TN I felt always better than the VA and softer with nice color
ASUS good quality on Monitors with my TN 2012 or 2013 to Oct 2019 I had on my ASUS VG248QE 144 1ms 1080p was was roughly 6 months before GSYNC so I had VSYNC on all games and wanted GSYNC ormaybe still on it if had GSYNC
I never had IPS. So I gave the IPS 4ms PG279Q a shot with PG278QR side by side.
For me Ips has slightly better color representation better brightness contrast. And felt net and movies say crisper and better not buy much
Con TN darker at times have have desk with it even height of head to avoid this
Con IPS have to adjust black but had better control of fixing it in NVCP
