  1. Well Coffee lake is suppository going to bring 6 core chips into the consumer level stuff I suspect as games have begun to be able to use more cores it's made those chips more useful now. Remember used to be most things used 1 maybe 2 threads at ones now 4 is the norm.
  2. Obviously I always check dimensions before I buy.
  3. Dark Rock 3 or Pro with 2 fans? also thankfully got plenty of time to consider all options but i agree looking for good air flow and such. Also likely to use arctic silver for thermal paste. Mainly jsut defiantly trying to cool this thing as much has possible but I am not a fan of trying to set up a water cooler.
  4. Ok so long way back had an Ipod now I am not sure where it is and I wanna use my phone more anyways. So some of the music is in AAC and won't run on my S4 phone. There any way to convert over to usable files?
  5. LoGiCalDrm this is for a future build like a i7 from kaby lake or coffee lake. 7700 or higher K model.
  6. I was looking at the Asus Tuf Mark 1 as a possible candidate.
  7. suppose next issue is weight on the motherboard.
  8. If the next one is anything liek my ASRock Extreme 4 Z77 board my 212 already is REALLY close to the RAM and my G.Skill Ares series is not very big or tall but it only has maybe a few mm of space. Cooler MasterAir Maker 8 seems liek a possible candidate and I know I can move the fans up some for clearance.
  9. Mmm what am I gonna get for RAM clearance with that?
  10. Alright so in a future build I want room for a little overclocking possibly say to 4.5 or 4.6ghz likely nothing HUGE from the stock I'll likely have. [likely to go with 3.8 or 4.0 stock for reference] so far I;ve used on my current rig a hyper 212 Evo and liked it mostly. Would that still be good woudl adding a second fan help or do I need to go to these ugly nocterna things with the ugly looking colored fans?
  11. Ok seriously if your getting 60+ FPS why are people pissed off? It's liek they just cannot stand if Ryzens good it to them HAD to be better or it was a failure? Good luck in the real world people.
  12. then yes 802.11AC will run it anything with 802.11 A, B, G or N will not.
  13. for the 5ghz signal yes. If you mean 5G like a cell tower system no idea. Thats an entirely different set of protocols.
  14. I noticed Vsync is on and that could be an issue depending as I believe it ties your frames to the refresh of your monitor. If it's a 144 refresh nm sorry to bother.
  15. Only ones I know of that support 5ghz is 802.11AC everything else N G etc downward does not and was to my understanding built for 2.4. Almsot every wireless device states the 802.11 standards it supports on is packaging or in a manual.
  16. my CM Storm is nice and I try to clean it to keep it going and so far I love it. But I know some swear my mechanical. I suspect it's preference for each and in the end it's how well you take care of it and how much value you feel you get from it. Example ism y old or no ancient Dell Latitude 110L I;ve done some upgrades before and it's had a bulb I replaced and it ugg running a 1.7ghz single core Pentium M but it runs decently still for an ancient thing. Out lasted 2 of my folks newer PCs cause I took care of it.
  17. Depends what you are doing and at what resolution.
  18. I am with BlueChinchilla here get them a inexpensive i3 or if your being spendy an I5 and a SSD.
  19. Cheap depends on your definition but the lowest end skylake CPUs for I7 are the 6700 and 6700k. K model starts with higher clock speed but also needs a cooler to be supplied, 6700 none k is lowered clocked but still 200mhz higher than your current one and high decent boost clock along with more threads. But both are over 300 bucks. You just can't buy a modern i7 under 300 atm save maybe is you found am mysterious used one. edit: was wrong goofed none k woudl be same base clock.
  20. So far it sounds like the games had huge optimization and bug issues causing performance hits everywhere. It's become an issue people have complained about.
  21. I am wondering if maybe higher clock speeds and Improved use of hyper threading and such and more cores will become the norm in the short to mid term to deal with it.
  22. Trouble is everyone wants 600 bucks for them. For that I can buy a new i5 and motherboard. On waiting it's a set time frame range not jsut wait forever. But it'd be for late this year or early next year. So At latest talking April 2018. I won't obther waiting on cannon lake likely as that is gonna be hellish. As stated above this all kinda is in the likelihood of late nov at earliest up to next year. I'll be saving up cash for what I want.
  23. Ok So I am eventually upgrading from my ivy Bridge i5 3350P which has served me well but it is old. But it will likely be a little while longer by then kaby lake will be aobut and possibly not far off from then coffee lake. I am wondering if I wish to get the most out of the performance boost should i wait and go with Coffee lake? I do games raging from strategy to FPS to any number of things and I'd like to get back into streaming for my friends some too Xsplit is choppy on my current I5 with a nasty delay. So thought of maybe going I7.
  24. I suspect this is something likely planned for hence looks like coffee lake is gonna start pumping up the core counts on desktop high end CPUs.
