  1. Dang, that's a sad sad story. I guess I'm lucky to live in a country where people are pushed to chased higher education by giving out scholarships and low low prices on education
  2. Oh no, i went through the same problem about a year ago. I tried everything from DDU, & Driver reinstall, Windows Reinstall, reinstalling games & all Asus softwares, no luck. Went to Asus Service Center (ASC), one time they couldn't figure out what's going on and made me receive the laptop in the same broken state. Few days later, went to the main ASC in my city which i guess have a diagnostic server. Figured that was a problem with VRM & Power Delivery for the GPU. Changed the entire Motherboard for free since it's still under warranty.
  3. RTX 3050ti and 3050 will be available with 1080-120Hz screen though. Many European already pre ordered it (source: r/FlowX13)
  4. Honestly if you're getting the ones with XG Mobile, it's fine. But if you're like me and getting the standalone laptop, I'd cancel it
  5. Honestly, just send it back to asus
  6. I think the problem has got to do something with XG Mobile connection, thus the available issues persist on the unit that are bundled with XG Mobile GPU. To clear up any confusion, My (old-ish) Flow X13 unit is the laptop only version that is sold as a standalone laptop, without the external GPU. It has a slightly different configuration from the Bundled version. It comes with Ryzen 7 5800HS instead of Ryzen 9 5900HS/5980HS, 512GB SSD instead of 1TB, and 16GB of RAM instead of 32GB (the higher spec is for the XG Mobile-bundled version and Supernova version). All of it currently comes with GTX 1650 Max-q for Internal dedicated GPU, which will be updated to RTX 3050Ti very soon. June/July is my personal prediction based on the timeline that i got from Asus Rep in Indonesia. They said that they will start rolling out the RTX 3050Ti version on May to reviewers. Counting from past (and personal experience with Asus ROG product launch) the retail availability will come around June/July (which lines up with their promise in early March about them delaying Supernova edition until July to fix the issues above). Hope this helps
  7. Brightness is okay, it's around 300 nits just like most gaming laptops. For me, full brightness is blinding though, so i always use mine at 30% brightness. Screen glare is there, but not extremely annoying, it is a touch display afterall. Upside is that the screen is topped with Gorilla Glass 5, so there's no way of making that a matte screen is there? Lol Well technically, the main charging port is the one on the left. The right one is an additional type c port that supports 100W charging, so yeah you can charge in full speed from both sides (the charging brick is impressively tiny and light). I actually don't know how i feel about this laptop though. I mean it's an impressive piece of machinery, but the trackpad issues on mine left a bad aftertaste (point of note: I haven't seen similar reports on this problem though, so it's probably just bad luck on my part).
  8. I think it will be widely available around June/July, along the Supernova edition that has been delayed since February Supply will be okay, since Flow X13 us not a "sweet spot" laptop that checkes all the boxes like G14 or G15. The GTX 1650 + Ryzen 7 5800HS version is available for purchase in my locality
  9. Well i sold mine since i made the review. Mainly because Asus will release the version with RTX 3050Ti for the same price soon, and the performance difference from GTX 1650 Max-q is just too big to ignore. So I would suggest holding out for that RTX 3050Ti version. Performance is nothing but satisfactory (because of that insane 5800HS), it doesn't get hot on the bottom but understandably, the keyboard near hinges area is really hot. Overall it runs surprisingly quiet, it also has passive fans mode so that helps a lot. I haven't been playing a lot of games, but Witcher 3 on 1200p @ Ultra settings runs around 30-40 FPS. Whilst Sims 4 runs at 40-60 FPS. Point of note though, my old one has crazy defect in the trackpad where the thing just kept jumping around (behaving erratically) after few hours or so. Idk if its exclusively mine since i haven't been able to locate people with similar issues though. And mine actually has 3 super tiny production defect (2 unevenly coated paint on the LCD Cover and 1 on the wristrest). But i spot then since I'm looking super closely though. Upgrades are mostly off the table since the LPDDR4X RAM is soldered on and the NVME SSD is the tiny 2230 version which is currently really hard to find.
  10. BUYERS BEWARE. When Linus reviewed this laptop, he specifically said that the GTX1650 Internal GPU will be updated with "Next gen GPU" in Q2 2021. Well, it's live now. As the title says, Asus will be rolling out the "Next-gen Update" of Asus ROG Flow X13 Internal GPU. It will get a huge bump of performance from the updated RTX 3050Ti for the same price. My connection in retails told me that it will slowly be available for purchase from May 2021. So again, buyers beware. Do not fell into the same BS with me of buying the GTX 1650 Max-Q version (GV301GH) when the RTX 3050Ti version (GV301QE) is rolling out soon. Avoid the GV301QH Variant at all cost. IMO, this is a real shady move from Asus. That's like marketing a V6 variant of a car and then releasing the V8 variant literally 3 months later. This is unacceptable and frankly disgusting.
  11. The word Zephyrus G14 comes to mind. But if that's too expensive, you can try Legion 5 or 7. I'm bot comfortable recommending other than those two though.
  12. Honestly, highly depends on your needs. School works won't need super color acurate displays. But on the other hand, the touch screen will be mighty helpful for your works. It's also cheap. One downside, VivoBooks ofter feels extremely cheap in the hand. All plastic build will scratch like a Japanese Pudding after 1-2 years of normal use.
  13. So, i decided to ditch my Zephyrus GU502GU for this Laptop that linus dubbed "Wonderbook" in his videos. Why? Simple, when i bought that said Zephyrus it was the Thinnest and Lightest gaming laptop on earth, but now 2 years into owning the thin beast, it's starting to get annoying to lug around 2,5 KG for the Laptop and 230W Charger around. Besides, i don't need the GPU power from that GTX 1660Ti, so the extra weight and size is basically deadweight to me. Second, kind of unrelated reason is the fact that it surprised me how high maintenance that Laptop is. For the time i owned it, i has been going for service 3 times. Twice for the same issue of RGB lights getting messed up and once for GPU VRM problems which resulted in Motherboard changes. As i said, I Pre Ordered the thing back in March 30th. And by the 31st, they told me it's ready to ship. It arrived in my hand on April 2nd. The whole process only took literally 4 days. I definitely got lucky. So when the Flow X13 arrived, it's like a whole new world to me. It's so thin and light, but somehow has a dedicated GPU and such a powerful CPU that it beats many 15 Inch laptops. High performance-Gaming laptop, that is. Now on to my experience: Pros: 1. The first thing that jumps out to me is the build quality. Asus definitely spends way more time perfecting their build quality this time around. The thing is rock solid and the ice cold metal screams premium in the hands. 2. The high performance in the tiny package is definitely nice. It's almost like they broke the law of thermodynamic with this. Ryzen 5th gen is THE go to CPU. 3. As expected, it's super responsive. 4. It's also surprisingly quiet compared to my earlier 15 Inch Zephyrus M. 5. The coating and design is comparatively resistant to Fingerprints than other dark laptops. 6. The 13 Inch, 16:10, 120Hz, super color acurate, adaptive refresh rate, touchscreen (gawd dayum, what a combination) is a literal godsend in my use case, which is mainly paper based research which requires a lot of reading. I never understand linus's obsession with these kind of screen combination before, but now i don't think i can live without them. The taller display also helps with adjustment period, coming from much bigger laptop into this. 7. Keyboard is impressively deep at 1,7 MM, i legitimately don't understand how they pulled it off. Even my thicker and bigger Zephyrus is only at 1,3 MM. The travel distance is super satisfying and layout is nice. 8. Cached in Fingerprint scanner is THE BEST methode of signing in on Windows. Hello Webcam is prone to obstruction with mask and normal Fingerprint scanner is a chore, almost feels primitive compared to this. Cons: 1. Trackpad is really smooth and adequately sized, but seems prone to static issues that makes it jumps around. It comes around once in a while and is really annoying. I tried everything from driver update to cleaning both the trackpad and my fingers but nothing works. 2. My unit comes with 3 total super tiny cosmetic damage. 2 unevenly coated paint on the lid and 1 super tiny marks on the keyboard deck. 3. No method of privacy protection with either webcam shutter or killswitch. 4. My biggest problem is Asus plans to refresh the internal GTX 1650 with RTX 3050, which super sucks for lucky early adopters like me. I hope they won't do it until second generation comes (which is at least next year). Like i get that i won't be playing loads of games (probably the very rare Sime 4 and Witcher 3), but the performance gain between the two is significant to say the least and i think its shady if they decided to clap our ass by doing such a thing. If anyone from Asus decided to go ahead with the plan, i hope they offer us some kind of trade-in programs to alleviate the pain. So that's how my life's been with this crazy little beast. I think I'll be keeping it for the next 2-5 years down the line. Any question is more than welcome! Ps: Sorry for the funny english, I'm not a native speaker, but am trying my best lol
  14. Well TUF does have a worse thermals compared to Strix. But they are reliable. Me and my friends been using them for 2 years now
  15. It's still coming. And will likely to have availability issues. Just avoid anything with Intel 11th Gen CPU though. It sounds great but the ones Asus were using are mostly the 4 Cores Variant which is crazy underpowered nowdays.
  16. ROG Flow X13? The standalone laptop, that is. It's crazy powerful for It's size, I'm wondering how Asus managed to tame the Ryzen 5800/5900HS & GTX 1650 inside with only 2 Heatpipes and 3 heatsinks. 2 downsides though: 1. It's an Unobtanium 2. Battery life with 1200p resolution version is only 7 hours (which is fine by me because i came from Zephyrus M which has 4 hours in a good day lol)
  17. I'd say no. But it depends on the current pricing in your country.
  18. Last time i encountered this is with my old Lenovo K2450 (basically a poorman's Thinkpad). Afaik, it's a corrupted OS. I tried everything to no avail, so i just reinstalled Windows and its all good.
  19. The ROG Flow X13. It's an amazing little beast with 16:10 touchscreen display which is great for productivity/browsing and Ryzen 7 58(9)00HS with GTX 1650 just in case you need the power. It can run completely on passive mode for most of the time i spend just browsing around. The main downside is It's currently an Unobtanium device, i got very lucky to live in a country where most people don't have the money to buy this, so demand isn't such a big deal.
  20. Apologies for reviving this rather old thread. But turns out it's a GPU power delivery issue. Visited a service service center, got the Motherboard replaced for free since it's under warranty. Been perfectly fine ever since.
  21. Did DDU twice, installed 2 of the newest older driver that I know is fine. And i do it in safe boot, so no network there.
  22. I'm with Asus ROG. And i did go to their Service Center, twice already. The first time they reseat the cooler, repaste, and clean the interior. The second time (which is yesterday), they told me the laptop is complete fine (at least according to their diagnostic server). So there's where am I. Exhausted of all plausible explanation and solutions.
  23. GPU - 1, the GTX 1660Ti lmao. Told you, the symptoms is like thermal throttling. The game will run fine for about 10-50 seconds, and then the fps will drop with no chance of going over 25 fps even in lower setting. But the temps are fine (70-85c), the GPU is running 300Mhz over base clock, and usage is over 90%. There is no way iGPU could run witcher 3 Ultra at 60fps @ 1080p
