  3. Get your kiddo, or yourself, a virtual boarding pass to the moon!

If the mission fail, does that mean the virtual boarding pass holder can be considered (virtually) dead ?

      Absolutely!

Everything is possible in the age of scientific exploration!

  4. Got a parking ticket today and was pissed the whole drive home 'cause I know I paid for 3 hours, only to find out that I paid for the wrong car... 🥲

how does parking work over there? over here in NL you put in your license plate number so you always pay for the right car.

You can either pay through an app or via SMS by sending the license plate no. along with the amount of minutes

Our license plates are composed of a set of numbers (1 to 6 digits long) and a set of letters (1 or 2 letters long), so multiple cars can have the same numbers but different letters, like 1234 A & 1234 BB.

So, I sent ##### R instead of ##### W, so it went to someone completely different.

  5. I've been switching over to Apple products throughout this year. Probably the best decision I've made.
  6. Thinking of turning my computer into a server (sometime in the future) to replace my current laptop server.

Mainly planning on using it for pi-hole, plex, and storage.

Those with home servers, how's the energy consumption? That's the main thing stopping me from doing it right now 😅 aside from being lazy

As a German with one of the highest electricity prices worldwide I shut my TrueNAS down in favor of a synology box to save some electricity.

Used an online calculator and based on the case that I set up, it'll only be $3/month, but that's assuming I don't use an eGPU.

Just don't be like me and consume about 900W 24/7. 😆

I'll keep that in mind.. 😅

I'm leaning towards TrueNAS for this server 😅

Thought about getting a Synology box, but I don't feel like it'll be worth the cost (compared to just buying a few HDDs), based on how little I use my current server.

I bought my Synology used because the MSRP is really a little high. I obviously got new HDDs but buying the box used significantly lowered the price. It seems your electricity is a lot cheaper though 😄 so a TrueNAS is the harder to setup but much faster solution compared to Synology.

  7. I'm guessing you're talking about signatures. You can add them through here https://linustechtips.com/settings/signature/
  8. According to the spec sheet, it doesn't have a builtin speaker. The device's specs is a good place to check.
  9. This also appears if you disabled the history. It's been like that for me on most devices for about a month.
  10. For some reason, my airpods don't play any sound when they're connected to my laptop unless the mic is active 🤔

I need to keep the sound settings open, I lose sound if I close the window..

Edit: It might've been an issue with automatic connections.
