  1. The only thing I really want right now is a new phone but I don't really have a preference on what to get. I might either or also buy the Switch just because of Project Octopath.
  2. I think that Sturgeon's Law apply here. Sure, some anime shows are good but honestly, most are shit. It's telling how few good Anime there are especially since everyone's still talking about anime from the 90's-00's when they need to give examples of 'good anime' Examples of these 'good' anime are things like Death Note, Neon Genesis Evangelion, or Full Metal Alchemist. If those are 'the best' anime can do, it shows how inaccessible to most people the medium is since these series require slogging through long-winded dialogues, detached imageries, and rather archetypical characters and plots. Perhaps, it's not these 'good anime' that non-fans might like. I bet most of the anime non-fans people might like are probably hiding in obscurity and will never gonna become mainstream enough to matter to everyone else. Also, seeing as how most Anime are adapted from manga, the pacing is abysmal, making it hard to get into any series for regular watchers, and impossible for people who never got into them in the first place. This means that people who get into anime would need to like manga as well, to an extent. Lastly, the art style. Personally, I think that it's not whether or not it's appealing. Anime is, after all, a cartoon. People in general don't watch cartoons, western or otherwise. The fact that this cartoon is foreign (and people in general also don't watch 'foreign films', ie. non-Hollywood films), it pretty much has nothing going for it to draw in new audiences other than people who stumbled upon it when they were very young.
