  1. That was really helpful! I found a really good deal (210 USD for a Palit 3060ti) so I think I'll go for that and spend that 70 dollar "stretch" of my budget in a good CPU.
  2. Hello! I'm looking for a GPU upgrade since my current graphics card is in need of retirement. I'm gonna be using this build for productivity (heavy 1080p video editing and graphic design all in Adobe Suite), gaming and streaming. In terms of gaming I'll be mostly playing co-op survival games (Minecraft, The Forest, Valheim, Terraria), competitive MOBA games, and a little bit of open world and soulslike games. I'd like to be able to run those at 1080p60 in medium/high settings. I'm looking for used GPUs so I'll be listing the average prices for some cards I've found in Facebook Marketplace, all in US dollars: GTX 1070 ~$135 GTX 1080 ~$190-$250 GTX 1660 ~$145-$160 RTX 2060 ~$180-$195 RTX 2070 ~$225 RTX 3060 ~$225-250 RTX 3060ti ~$290-320 Budget: 200 USD Country: Argentina I can stretch my budget by 50-80 bucks only if there's a considerable difference and it's really worth it. My current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8YYsrD
  3. Really though to tell whether it's gonna work or not. I'd try to find out the PSU model either by looking for it in the prebuilt system's specifications or by removing one of your panels to check the PSU's branding on the side like @podkallsaid.
  4. Double 16gb ram kit? I want to know why! Anyways, I'm stuck with a shitty Thermaltake PSU too, it's sad that whenever I think of upgrades I have to add in the cost of a new PSU. When I'm looking for a new PSU I often use the OuterVision Power Supply Calculator. I input my system's parts and use the "Recommended PSU Wattage" to look for power supplies from the PSU tier list that fit into those wattage and certification recommended values.

  6. Overkill CPU for your video editing preferences. Ryzen 7 3700X it's a better choice. Mobo it's not good, I don't think you'll benefit of the PCI-e 4.0 ports, would certainly go for B450. I'd go for 32gb of RAM.
  7. @rares495Thanks for the info and suggestions! I'm sorry I didn't get any notifications for this post
  8. RAM Suggestions: Use dual-channel memory on the second build. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2fdxFT/geil-super-luce-rgb-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr4-3200-memory-gls416gb3200c16adc https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8t97YJ/team-t-force-vulcan-tuf-gaming-allian-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr4-3200-memory-tltyd416g3200hc16cdc01 PSU suggestions: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8PJtt6/evga-supernova-g1-650w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-120-gp-0650-x1 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2HbwrH/corsair-rmx-2018-650w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020178-na
  9. I'd suggest for both of the build: Higher frecuency and lower latency ram sticks (above 3000Mhz), SSDs with better value (NVME presence is a thing to look for in a SSD disk). Crucial MX500 drives are quite good. And last but not least, I wouldn't suggest going for those PSUs, they're not really good and also their headroom is way too low.
  10. Buying Windows I see... As your first and most important field to cover is aesthetics. Those low latency and high frecuency rams are on point. The only thing that calls out my attention is the GPU difference between the two builds, is there a specific reason for that? Overall I don't have much up-to-date knowledge about the most valuable PC parts, but I assume those deals are pretty okay considering the aesthetic choice. Maybe not buying Windows and using that extra cash for some improvement could be a slightly more efficient use of the money tho.
  11. Is there any particular reason to go for a 1080 Founders edition?
  12. As far as I know, the deals here are awful. The market price for a Thermaltake Smart 650w PSU is around U$D90
  13. In a shithole called Argentina. My budget is $100 which is around $7500 argentinean pesos. Is there any brand or model lines you'd suggest? So I figure if they are available here
  14. The LG one has a better panel type. I'd stick with that
  15. Any PSU suggestions? My budget atm is around $100.
  16. I'm sticking with my desktop system. Will use the money for upgrades. Thanks!
  17. In my previous thread on Laptops and Pre-built systems I discussed the posibility of buying a brand new laptop for video editing, motion graphics and gaming purposes that could out perform my r5 1600 build for under $650. I came to the conclusion that I won't be able to get a good deal for that money (at least in my country) and I also my enthusiasm for PC building is huge. With that being said, I'd like to upgrade my current Ryzen build (small tweaks here and there) so it's more effective in video editing. This is my current build: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (14nm) 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor $107.99 @ Amazon Motherboard Asus PRIME B350-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory Kingston HyperX Fury RGB 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $43.00 @ Newegg Video Card Asus Radeon R7 260X 2 GB Video Card Case Corsair SPEC-04 ATX Mid Tower Case $54.99 @ Corsair Power Supply Thermaltake TR2 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply Monitor Samsung S24D300H 24.0" 1920x1080 60 Hz Monitor Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $205.98 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-02-05 18:54 EST-0500 The upgrade paths I had in mind were: Getting a 2x8gb 3200Mhz CL 16-18-18 RAM kit Upgrading both PSU and v-card Getting an SSD for OS + video and photo editing software Better monitor Changing my PSU for something more reliable before going ahead with all the upgrades Which one should I go for first?
  18. I have an R7 260x from Asus as my main card too. It was paired with an i5 4400 and it's been paired with a r5 1600 for a year and a half now. Been using it for 4 years, still rocks.

  20. Would you mind telling us a bit more about your pc specs? Agree. Your GPU choice should depend on your system compatibility and how are you gonna take advantage on the upgrade

  22. No. The only thing you should do is delete your video card and display drivers from your OS using DDU and install new drivers when your RX 580 starts running
  23. Maybe an external power supply to feed the v-card? It's kinda crazy but It'd be interesting
