  1. Hey i looked at your posts and found you need a easy solution for ryzen master vbs error i made a video about it and its super

  2. I do know the pros and cons and I've read up on it but I came to the same conclusion as you. My options are either getting a 3rd drive because RAID 5 gives me the advantage of RAID 0 and 1 combined or just using the both 4 TB drives independent for storing Data I don't use and then just running a 1 TB SSD for the slow games etc. I was just thinking of RAID or a fusion drive with the new SSD because managing DATA between 4 separate drives is going to be a pain in the ass. Thanks anyway.
  3. So I built my first PC in January 2018 and got myself a 500 GB 850 EVO and a 4 TB WD Black back then. Nowadays quite a lot has changed and my 4 TB are slowly running out of space. Luckily I got a second 4 TB WD Black back then because of some issue at the retailer, and they never wanted it back since then, so I guess by now it should be definitely mine to keep. Now onto my issue. My HDD has been gradually getting slower and it's painfully slow these days even loading a game like Rust or Anno 1800 is getting painful and Ntoskrnl.exe is always hammering it when I'm writing files so even patching games takes sometimes 30 minutes even after downloading all the content. So I though as performance downgrades with less storage available I should probably add my second HDD. But because I never planned on getting that I have no idea what to do with it. I've been thinking about getting a 1 TB M.2 SSD to add to the system but I'm not sure what the right move would be. Is there any RAID I could do which would make sense with 2 HDDs or should I create a Fusion Drive if I get an M.2? The idea sounds excellent but no ones using it, so I don't really know if it's worth it etc. on top of that I got O&O Defrag quite some time ago (I know those programs are snake oil but I thought it looked good back then and I thought why not) so could I maybe work with the speed zones functions it has to help to get my HDD back on its feet? I really don't know what my next move would be so please help a slow soul out. Btw. my rest of the specs: MSI B350 Gaming Pro Carbon AMD Ryzen 1700 MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X 32 GB Corsair Vengeance 2933 MHz 16 - 17 - 17 - 35 - 69
  4. So basically my issue started some time back when I tried to get stuff done in my VM. I just ignored the issue because I didn't have the time to dive deeper into the topic but now it's messing with me everywhere. I need to disable it for VMs, Ryzen Master, Nox and more, so I would love to get some help on that. So far I've tried disabling it in the Group Policy Manager, in the registry, uninstalling Hyper-V and disabling my AMD TPM. Nothing so far has got it disabled so far. The weird thing is that it says that VBS is turned on in device security in the Windows Defender Application but when I go into the actual tab core isolation the switch for memory integrity is turned off and if I try to turn it on I get an error which says there might be an incompatibility issue on my device. I have tried just about every guide I found so far and it just won't disable for the love of god. I'm running a manually overclocker Ryzen 7 1700, MSI B350 Gaming Pro Carbon newest BIOS, Corsair Vengeance 32 GB clocked at 2933 MHz and the newest windows version 17763.437. Any help would be gladly appreciated and don't be shy to ask anything you might need to help me solve it thanks :)
  5. Oh ok, interesting. I think it should be possible but are the BeQuiet Silent Wings 3 still considered the best or are there any better/cheaper options I could add? And btw. would it be better to fill occupy 3x 120 mm or 2x 140 mm?
  6. Not really the cages for them are almost in the bottom of the case and all of the fans are in the upper half. But how would an optimal fan curve look then?
  7. Oh ok, I didn't know that 60°C is usual for a high-end GPU. And I know how to set the fan curve, I'm just not sure how to set it optimal so I have the best of silence and thermals. What should I set the different levels to?
  8. So I built my first PC back in January and I've always realised that I don't get quite the thermals I'd like, but I didn't get bothered enough. Now I think it's time after half a year since I'm mostly worried about the thermals on my HDD, the motherboard and the GPU. So my build looks like this with idle thermals (reported from HWMonitor): Fractal Design Meshify C MSI B350 Gaming Pro Carbon - 57°C Ryzen 7 1700 @ 3.8 GHz - 45°C MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X (zero rpm mode) - 58°C Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500 GB - 45°C WD Black 4 TB - 53°C The stock fans of my case (Dynamic X2 GP-12) are currently running at 560 RPM and 650 RPM stock curve and my Scythe Mugen 5 PCGH Edition runs at 710 RPM on one fan (the other runs full afaik since they're connected with only one cable). So there are multiple things that I researched on but still have no idea how to do it optimally. How about fan curves, how would I configure them (I already checked SpeedFan and my motherboard doesn't work so if anyone knows the MSI utilities or the BIOS that would be useful)? Should I add some more case fans and/or replace the ones on the CPU cooler and if yes with which? Should the intake or outtake run at full speed on my CPU cooler? etc. Since this is my first build, I have literally no experience airflow and cooling so any help would be appreciated.
  9. Honestly, I don't think it's worth the hassle. I would have one but I think the mouse is just dead. I mean I've owned it for 4 years now I think. It's probably time to get rid of it anyways and switch to wireless. For now, I'm just gonna use it with a polling rate at 500. And the problem is I wouldn't know where to restore anyway since I had this problem like 2 months ago already but it just went away after some time back then.
  10. Nah I would realize it instantly since 200 Hz to 30 would be quite the difference. But I just checked and it still is sporting the full refresh rate. No idea what is going on.
  11. They are both up to date, that's what bothers me. I can't find anything new about this topic so it probably is Hardware related which bothers me.
  12. That's what I guessed at first too but I couldn't find any new posts on this so it probably is case specific. But I'm not sure how I would go about removing every single bit of the driver and talking about it I don't think there's any way I can force a fresh install of the driver on the mouse in this shitty outdated LGS. Any idea what to do?
  13. I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but on the peripherals topic everyone's just talking about which to buy etc. so I figured out I'd ask here. Ok so, first of all, I found a lot of threads only with this issue. Sadly I couldn't find a real fix and all of those posts are mostly outdated and CPU related. (I'm talking 2013ish stuff). So basically the problem is that games and even OS lag out when I move my mouse, like pretty bad. I'm dropping from 300 FPS to 30 FPS. I'm running an MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X, Ryzen 7 1700 @3.8 GHz, MSI B350 Gaming Pro Carbon and a Logitech G502. If I decrease my polling rate to 500 the lag gets better "only" dropping around 100 frames and OS feels a bit smoother. But still not what you would expect from this setup I think. So as I said earlier I was able to find multiple threads dealing with this issue. But mostly everyone just fixed it by dropping the polling rate to 250 which isn't really optimal when gaming on a 200 Hz monitor more or less competitively. I tried out my MX Master S2 and if I use it, there aren't any issues (keep in mind that I don't unplug the G502, so even having it plugged in isn't an issue). How could I possibly fix this? I already tried uninstalling it in the device manager including the drivers and then restarting letting it download again. How much exactly do I need to uninstall and when am I able to reinstall without having any leftovers? If anyone wants to see some slo-mo footage I could probably get something up so the issue is more clear. Thanks in advance for any help.
  14. Ok, so I wanna excuse myself for being so much trouble. It actually just was a Windows bug I think. I got through the whole Overwatch Retribution mission without a blue screen where I would always get one by around the same part of the mission (probably not the best stability test, but I'll let it slip). I want to thank you for all your help and patience with me. Now I'll see if I can get past that A-XMP Profile and get the perfect timings combined with 3000 MHz. Thanks again and have a nice one!
  15. Damn, that's some interesting information right there. Thanks, enjoyed the read a lot. So back to the issue, since I'm running an insider build and Microsoft reported more frequent BSOD on the latest one I think this could be the issue. Sadly (I thought) there's no way to know if it really is this at the moment. But lucky as I am they tweeted 50 min. ago that they pushed a fix. It's currently installing and at 85%. Once it's done (they usually take some time, so it may take a bit until I report back) I'll tell you if this fixed it. Weirdly enough my RAM (CMK32GX4M2B3000C15) isn't listed on the QVL (https://msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-GAMING-PRO-CARBON#support-mem-12) however other models are (even at higher speeds but at different sizes) and idea how to interpret that information and use it for my issue? Another information that might matter is that my RAM does boot and the board doesn't apply the memory re-try function or whatever the official term is for it. It only crashes in Windows so it's not one to one the issue @ariel621 had. But in the meantime thanks a lot for your help. You really got me onto the right path here I think.
