  1. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jLHQRk Not 100% sure on what is absolutely needed to start getting into podcasts and streaming, this is a build I figured that would be plenty to start on with minimal diminishing return. Any thoughts, tweaks, advice?
  2. Yeah, I've just tried to install windows 10 on the SSD. But I can not make it a partition that I can use for the install. I wen't through diskpart in cmd and tried to format the SSD that way. Still nothing. So I installed windows to my HDD to try and initialize the format it in Disk Management. Doesn't even show up, but reads in BIOS. Should I just assumed it's dead? Also there wasn't anything on it, that I needed to recover.
  3. SSD is less than 6 months old
  4. Last night I powered down my PC through the desktop, that I just got done using in order to move it to my new desk area. When I plugged everything back in at my new desk area, the SSD is not recognizing the install of windows and requests me to insert a bootable drive. I have checked in the BIOS, the SSD is there, as the bootable drive. I have switched Sata Cables and ports. I've disconnected the HDD, which does not have windows on it. I have reset CMOS Not sure what else unless the data was just wiped or the SSD has gone bad.
  5. Hmm, true.. I think I'm going to go with this monitor: https://m.newegg.com/products/9SIACA15EB2030 Then when I want to I can upgrade my GPU it'll be to a 1080. Thanks for the insight. Heh thanks for the tip, but if I swap it out it'll be for a better upgrade(1080), plus... Doesn't the 970 perform(minor fps) lower than the 1060, and the 980 perform the same at a higher cost? Earlier I was thinking, I would save and sell the 1060 for the 1070, but kind of decided I can probably wait save some more then sell the 1060 for the 1080.
  6. Yeah I was also toying with the idea of selling the 1060 and saving up a bit more for the 1070. Thanks for the input
  7. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BGdCvV I have everything on here already except the processor, I also have an MSI Z170a, with bent socket pins. Which I intend to revisit at a later time. When I built this, I was going to use the 7600k I had ordered and update the bios at the local shop I frequent. I have a thread here explaining me....dropping it........(cough, flem amirite?). Anyways called NewEgg to RMA they're going to give me half my money back so going with the 6600. Also not listed is Crucial 256gb SSD my cousin got me as a gift for the new build. I don't know anything about 2k or 4k gaming and wanted to start moving in that direction to check it out, so was wondering if my end build would be able to move to that level on at least High settings or better?
  8. Ahh that sound's like a good deal, I'd have to get an actual EVGA card though, mines PNY, but thanks for the link. Keeping that bookmarked
  9. Not sure if allowed here? I mean it is the GPU forum and it's pertinent, but wondering if anyone has used Cutting Edge Gamer to lease/purchase their GPU. Some of us can't afford that kind of stuff outright, but was considering going through them to make payments for a 1080 to upgrade from a 1060. Which then would allow me to upgrade to a z270a, which then would allow me to upgrade to a 6700k. Kind of a weird domino effect, but that's my situation heh.
  10. If you're gonna scrapyard style, 970a mobo, AMD Vishera 8350, Radeon HD 7570. 16gig ddr3 2133, prob run everything you want still on high.
  11. I'm mad about it of course, but it's my own fault. Live and learn. Not tryina drag this post out so I'll end it with a maybe funny story? To lighten the mood of my stupidity. When I went and picked the CPU up from the shop, the guy(new guy, I practically live here and never seen him before) was like, "Yeah first builds are the worst, when you don't know what you're doing and accidentally mess your stuff up." My response "Oh yeah totally, first build. Must've bricked my ssd when I put it in the clip. Can I get a bag?" I thought it was funny at least, wulp back to square one, happy building guys.
  12. And the verdict is....it's dead Jim..dead. Don't be dumb like me and drop your cpu
  13. I would but Krillin hogs em all, he just dies too much.
