You all do realize this is old new. Autodesk has allowed students to have any of there software for free for years now. You don't even have to be a student to make an account. I've been using the student account method for years to get the latest version of 3DS Max to make mods for GTA SA.

Some people don't want to play with a mouse and keyboard. Some people don't want to constantly upgrade their system to play the latest games. Some people don't have the knowledge to build a pc. Why does it matter if they play consoles because the last time I checked the good ol PC Master Race was doing just fine financialy. All the labs in my school have crappy Optiplexs but one. And its for a Microsoft Certification Program Im pretty sure all the towers in the lab have i7's with 8 gb of ram.
