    Volde reacted to da na in PC freezes and locks up seemingly at random, but retains background functionality.   
    Seems like a complex, messy issue that could be caused my almost everything.
    First, fun sfc/scannow in elevated command prompt, reboot, then run chkdsk for c: in elevated command prompt. If that does nothing, I'd recommend fully disassembling and cleaning your PC and rebuilding it. If that does not work, reinstall the OS after updating BIOS. Seems like more of a software than hardware issue.

    If you have atpeast a 4 core 4 therad cpu at 2.5ghz you can play ps2
