  1. The project is now finally finished, read about it and take a look at some pictures in the second post of the thread here
  2. They are "Parvum modding cubes". You will probably find them if you google it!
  3. I guess you have a point... I have been thinking about it but I went with the Koolance block for two main reasons. 1. I think it looks amazing! 2. I´m out of money and already have the Koolance block! But It would have been nice to have all EK blocks!
  4. Hi! The project is moving along just fine. I might not work very fast but thats kind of the point, no stress! I have been doing some cable management tonight which is challenging in this compact build. Luckily I have short mocular cables for my power supply which makes it a lot easier! Almost all the water blocks are installed aswell, just the GPU remains and that is the project for tomorrow! I´m hoping to have this system up and running this weekend but that might be a bit optimistic... Well see. Anyway, here are some photos!
  5. Im using the screws you see in the photos, its M3x8mm torx screws. And I also plan to leave the case-panels as they are right now
  6. Hi again! Today when I started to assemble some of the core parts of the system, I realized that I need to make the cut-out for the mobo and gpu I/O larger. I would rather not go one step back and start messing with the case part again but it seems like I have no choice... Anyways, here are some photos I took today! I am getting more and more confident that this build will turn out really nice with the white and black color theme, what do you guys think?
  7. I have been using the BitFenix case while building my own case so I used it for testing the GPU!
  8. Hi again! Now that the case is mostly finished, we have come to the next part of this project. It´s time to start putting components in Snowflake! First I would like to announce that I have finally decided what GPU I will be using, this system will be featuring a Asus 290X! Might not be the latest and greatest but I got it for only around 230 USD (2400 SEK) and I couldn´t really find anything with better performance per dollar. I really wanted to go with the new AMD Fury but when it was finally announced I think it was kind of a dissapointment, mostly because of the bad overclocking headroom.... Here are some photos from last weekend when I tested all the new components before modding them. I don´t want to void the warranty and later find out that something is DOA. Hope you like it! More coming soon!
  9. Hello everyone! The case is now finally FINISHED!!!! I think this is so cool, it´s something I have been working on for so long and it´s finally ready to show off to you guys. It´s not perfect and there are stille some details I want to do some more work on, but I have removed the protective plastic and I don´t think it will ever be more officially finished than this... The next step is, as you may have guessed, building a custom water cooled system in this case. I will take a couple of days off the modding for the holidays this weekend but next week it´s time to start the next part of this project. I hope you are as ready as I am! I really want to hear what you think, both the good and the bad, so please leav a post and tell me if you think it looks as good as I do. Take care! /Axel
  10. Ok, it´s time for an new update. The project is moving forward fast and the case is almost finished. I will hopefully finish the last small details tomorrow and then post a lot of photos of the final result. After that, ater this week, it´s a special midsummer holiday here in sweden, so I will probaly not post anything until next week. But for now, here are some photos taken yesterday of the case with the new front panel as well as front USB and audio. Hope you like it!
  11. I think it´s the Elite 430! http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/elite-430-black/
  12. Ok, new update! I found a case from my brothers old rig just collecting dust in the garage and figured that I probably could use parts from it for this project. It´s an old Cooler Master case with rivets all over the place so I had to bring out the dremel to take it apart. Realized that I could use the PCI and MB I/O plate in the case im building. I think it fits pretty good after some modification, what do you think? I will probably paint it white if I decide to use it!
  13. I was thinking about it but realized that it would be hard to make it look good unless you have the right tools. Now it looks like I´ll just go for a transparent top and side but as two different panels...
  14. I really belive this will turn out awesome. And the invertet mobo is mostly to show off the gpu through the transparent top panel!
