  1. So I have an All the Mods 8 server running on an old i3-4370 and it runs well enough for just me and maybe a couple friends. I think CPU wise you can probably go with anything with at least 4 cores made in the last 5 years if it is just you and a few friends. However, I would max out the ram 16GB minimum for a dedicated server. My server wont even start on less than 4GB, and the more chunks you plan on keeping loaded and the more players will require more ram. And old OptiPlex and a couple sticks of ram will get you started.
  2. The HD6XX are in a different league entirely from the other headphones you listed. However, they are 300 ohm which can give even motherboards with high end on-board audio a run for its money. Check out the HD58X Jubilee, they have half the impedance so you can make better use of them without an amp. As for surround sound, it is really just a gimmick. The A50s are just stereo headphones with a bunch of software and DSP correction to make up for the fact that they are not particularly good headphones by themselves. A good pair of headphone will give you those same effects if the game audio is worth a damn. Many modern FPS games will use HRTF method for positional audio when you are using headphones, some use Dolby Atmos for Headphones. This will give you a binaural effect in games. Try some regular headphones and watch some videos from The Sound Traveler or a video called virtual barbershop.
  3. Look into Two Steps from Hell and Audiomachine
  4. The 9500s have a 3.5mm stereo so any standard aux cable will work as a headphone cable for them.
  5. I noticed that the burn in test puts causes very unrealistic temps. I tried it on my on my 4790K @ 4.6Ghz 1.30V and It will run my system straight to thermal throttle with a Thermaltake Water 3.0 360. On Prime95 v26.6 Small FFT test I will run at 78C all day long. I would recommend running a couple of other test software, but be aware don't run a prime95 newer that v26.6 as it will cause the same unrealistic temps. Aida64 has a 30 day free trial and you can try that as well.
  6. It is safe to say that they will go on sale again.... eventually. I usually see it a few times a year. 75 isn't a bad price, so if you need something now go for it. If you can stand to wait for the next sale you will save yourself 20 bucks. Depending on your situation that may be worth it to you.
  7. Ya I saw that. Probably missed the sale by a week. Its still 75 on amazon so that isn't a bad price about average really.
  8. The SHP9500s are a big step up from the M30x. I would compare the SQ of the SHP9500s I had to be on par with my AKGs. The SHPs had better slightly mids, better treble and the AKGs had better lowend. The imaging slightly better on the SHPs but the AKGs have bigger soundstage. Both cans were very comfortable but the SHP9500s had the advantage of the V-Moda Boom-pro mic for gaming. The SHP is a great can, easily better than what you currently have, especially in the comfort department. That would be worth the upgrade alone.
  9. I would say Phillips SHP9500s. The beyers and Sennheisers are also good options. If you catch the SHP9500s on sale you could probably swing a Schitt Fulla otherwise a Fiio E10K will usually do the trick.
  10. Look at the Mayflower ARC. It has decent power and can do a mic pass through for the boom pro. Also you might look at the T20RP it has the same driver but it is technically considered open and has better bass response and they work better with the 1840 pads.
  11. These should work great and keep a similar sound signature https://www.amazon.de/Brainwavz-Schaumstoff-Ohrpolster-Kopfhörer-Sennheiser-schwarz/dp/B072PPPWBF/ref=sr_1_54?ie=UTF8&qid=1512489075&sr=8-54&keywords=brainwavz The Velour will be more comfortable but will most likely change the sound signature. I don't know how it would change but most likely it will result in less bass due to the more open material.
  12. This was talked about about a month ago you can see the thread linked below for answers.
  13. I would probably go with the AKG K712 or Hifiman HE400i and a Schiit Stack Magni 3 modi 2 with that budget. The Hifiman are a little more neutral, but the AKG are more comfortable for long listening periods. HD600 are also a good in this budget, but are better with a tube amp and that would take about $700 to make that work.
  14. I would also recommend the RBH HP-2 and the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 but the Mezes are also good
