  1. Guys I have narrowed down my options to the 15inch surface laptop 3 with a core i7 10th gen 16gb ram and 256gb ssd or the XPS 13 i7 10th gen 16gb ram 512gb ssd. They are both great computers but I am just having a hard time trying to figure out if I want a 15 or 13 inch. I'm mostly gonna use it for University. Some excel spreadsheets, mainly notes . How else should I choose? The XPS has a better display, battery lifetime, fingerprint. For the surface laptop I prefer the bigger display, the looks and it has atleast one USB A. See what im trying to figure out is which laptop would last me the longest, the most bang for my buck. The XPS 13 has almost no complains and it considered the best windows laptop whereas the intel version of the surface laptop has only like upto 7.5 hours of battery life and people complain the USB C is not thunderbolt but honestly I have no idea what thunderbolt is (except it can transfer upto 40gbps of data). I am not sure what I will use thunderbolt for.
  2. @nerdslayer1 @Lord Vile You guys are right. The thinkpad has good specs but the mirror is not where near dell xps 13/15 or surface laptop 3. The chromebook isn't like a 'real' laptop. If I were just taking notes I would not mind with a chromebook but now I am looking at other laptops. More premium ones ish? Dell gram laptop, acer swift line up, Dell XPS 13/15 inch, surface laptop 3 13/15 inch
  3. Thx for the reply all, I have looked at the laptops but a thinkpad is more of my liking. Which thinkpad model, I have not settle down on that. I am still looking at other laptops from dell and what not. But is there any laptop with a good screen too? @Lord Vile I did not take into consideration of how smalls the tables would be. Good point though, I will take a look into 13 inch. I might take another look at the microsoft surface laptop 3 13 inch again however.
  4. Hi all, as the title says I am looking for a laptop to bring for UNI. I wanna have 16gb ram just for that multiple google tabs and a good battery life also the screen size to be 15 inch atleast or maybe 14 also with a good/premium build quality. I really like the microsoft surface laptop 3 15inch , the build quality is amazing but for me to get 16gb ram it right out of my budget. I could get the 13.5 inch but I just feel its too small for me. Are there any alternatives? My budget is 2200 singapore dollars or about almost 1600usd.
  5. @GeneXiS_X well tbh my online shopping is just amazon lol. Unless I can buy the gaming laptop direct from its website like alienware
  6. Sorry for late reply went to sleep. I am gonna buy online from Singapore most likely or either going to a local dealer to buy the game . But I do know I need the laptop to come with international warranty
  7. @Its Not Important thx . TBH my sister and her husband do travel but more like airplane style and as long as its able to be put in a bag it should be good. Also I will check into the laptops you recommended but maybe not MSI. Their looks are kinda too gaming but will still look. Also in terms of price my budget is still at 1500$ USD and I will be buying online most likely. Alot of the shops here in SEA tend to make the prices way more expensive then it is.
  8. @Its Not Important well tbh thinness is definitely not a feature i'm looking for in a laptop. I notice it bumps up the price higher way more also some may have heat releasing issues. But I get what you mean
  9. well I thought I would have asked her to go for it since I also had a alienware like few years ago and they had a great customer service and warranty. Edit= Also Asus seems to be way more expensive . I just need a laptop that does play game at medium settings at 60 fps or more
  10. I am from singapore but my sister's husband is born in sweden. They both kinda travel alot so that is why I told her to get laptop and not a desktop to game in and also why I need one with international warranty. TBH he only plays dota 2 and maybe other games but for him his graphics dont matter as long as it hits over 60fps and it can play games. Weight does not matter he likes to workout and lift heavy things and he would probably like it if it was heavy and battery wise I guess if i can be used for like 4-6 hours of web browsing usage
  11. Now my sister wants to get a laptop for a husband as a birthday gift and she asked me. Thing is I have not been keeping up with the gaming laptops of the world or anything tech related for about 1.5 years. Even though I have been gone quite a short while a lot has happen and I am lost . I am thinking about telling her to get the Alienware 15 as they have a discount going right now for their product. The configuration im going for has a $400 discount. It has a gtx 1060 6gb ddr5, i7-8750h intel core ,16gb ddr4 ram, 128gb SSD, 1TB hd, 1080p 60fps IPS monitor. It seems really good for its price. Should I tell her to get this or other brand? He likes to play game but also do normal web browsing and nothing hardcore. He does not like flashly or game looking laptop. I went for Dell also because they got a great customer service. I need the laptop company to have a great customer service and international warranty. Any recommendations would be very useful thank you very much!!!
  12. So when I go into play music and press on the top left 3 horizontal lines icon there is no option to buy music. I have to go to the album overview section and tap on the 3 verticle dots on 1 album and tap on shop for this artist then it brings me to the play store but then it says to view this content, install and set up a web browsing app. Any ideas on how go fix . I'm using samsung s8 BTW
  13. So my first "audiophile" headphones were the AKG 7XX which I paired up with the shiit fulla 2 then I bought a fidelio X2. Both headphones I use with a shiit fulla 2. Im looking at what to buy now as I have no clue. I like both headphones but i feel like the X2 fits me more because I listen to more modern music and the X2 sound very fun I geuss. But the sound stage is so small compared to the AKG 7XX. I can't use the X2 for gaming but the AKG 7XX works amazingly well for gaming. Im looking for a headphone with sound stage and pairs well with modern music. I was looking at the fostex THX00 but then after looking at reviews it appears that they have a very narrow soundstage. Also what new AMP/DAC would go well with the headphones as im pretty sure whatever headphones you all recommend me , I am not gonna be able to power them with a shiit fulla 2. Budget wise definately less then 1500. I have spend no more than 200 dollars on any of my items as you can see but I am ready to spend more money after having a taste of this "audiophile" goodness. thumb_up
  14. Im looking forward to adding another audiophile headphone to my collection. So far I got a AKG 7XX and philips Fidelio X2. I was trying to find a closed back headphones and stumbled across this ones. Their really bassy from what I heard but I was told they got a narrow sound stage. I was wondering if anybody has the Fostex THX00 and tried gaming with them. Are they able to have some sort of soundstage or none at all? .
  15. yeh.i forgot about the output impedance. But i think i will be buying the jotunheim with balanced DAC only because i feel its more easier for me to have around compared to having 2 items on my table.I also decided to go for the fostex tr x00 mahogany actually.
