@imreloadin @Senzelian I'm mostly disappointed in how quickly some of this community has been to dismiss SA allegations and defend Linus. Obviously, we shouldn't take everything at face value, but to not even give it a chance when even LMG feels the need to investigate, is ridiculous.

It's not, they didn't post what they were disappointed about so you have absolutely no idea.

  5. If you don't mind me asking, which did you book?
  6. If you're in Coquitlam make sure to book next to the metro. Hills are steep and you really don't want to be walking too far. With the metro it's long ride but only one transfer (M -> E), and the E Line will bring you in front of LTX.
  7. personal update:

so i haven't posted on here in ages lol. i've just been living life, torturing myself through physics, and building/selling PCs. here's a PC i sold a few months ago:

    image.thumb.jpeg.fccec81463498ed4799a343b988caecd.jpeg

recently because of the economic downturn i've been switching to selling more low end systems, especially with 4th Gen Intel for under US$400 generally. still good money to be made, although not as good as before LOL

the next period of time will be super busy for me PC and school wise. i'm thinking of finally starting that youtube venture i always have thought of doing with my PC building. you can expect a video whenever my $1000 aliexpress PC part haul arrives! i basically bought everything i need to complete systems with spare parts i've accumulated over the past year and a half

  8. Damn... I come back to the forum after so long and of course this thread is still active. Good to see some older people on the forum still.

Quick sanity check, is the AK400 a good fit for…

Controversial take, but there's a decent Deepcool AIO on sale for... $70 I think? On Amazon. Comes with RGB and is a 240mm AIO, if that's your thing. Probably won't perform all too much better but definitely will have better RAM clearance. EDIT: $77 for 240mm. $53 for a 120mm. https://www.amazon.ca/DEEPCOOL-Technology-Waterblock-Motherboard-Controller/dp/B07H29YRYH/ref=sr_1_8?crid=120PVO1SC3PFP&keywords=deepcool%2B240mm&qid=1669004577&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjU2IiwicXNhIjoiMS45NyIsInFzcCI6IjEuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=deepcool%2B240m%2Caps%2C171&sr=8-8&th=1

I would go a little higher end for better MCE clock speeds. https://www.amazon.ca/Thermalright-Peerless-Assassin-Aluminium-Technology/dp/B0B8J5JS55/ This isn't too much more in Canada and is dual tower.
  11. GX is the new one, it is fine. "Focus Plus" is the one with the refresh.
  12. This one is $49 if you bother to do the rebate: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/B6XnTW/cooler-master-masterwatt-550w-80-bronze-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-mpx-5501-amaab-us If you want to spend a bit more, this PSU is a lot nicer, fully modular, and better built: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zDMTwP/thermaltake-toughpower-gf1-pe-650-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ps-tpd-0650fnfagu-1

I'm traveling right now in a train. Went and bo…

Even I switched to a MacBook Air. Sometimes I just want something that typically works, with amazing battery life. I'm on the third day on my current charge, it's still at 25%, and I use it constantly at school and work.
  14. If I made YouTube videos of my PC flipping antics, would anyone be interested?

I just realised I have the camera gear for it, and enough PCs being flipped for it to be moderately interesting.

  15. Unless we get another death wave of COVID and the provincial government shuts things down again, they're going to try for it. LTX 2022 was a cancel because even as of Feb/March 2022 gatherings of more than 5 people (IIRC) were prohibited by BC government ordinance. We'll see how things pan out.
  16. This is a pretty normal price for a 6650 XT.
  17. AliExpress or eBay. Sometimes you can find a good deal on Amazon. You can also check local classified sites, like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or Gumtree.
  18. What model PSU was it? A good 450W can absolutely power your system, but a shit 750W might not.
  19. The 6600 can handle the other stuff fine.

My bank that only allows 5 to 10 digit password…

BNS here in Canada still uses MS-DOS, or some sort of MS-DOS based system. It's all command line, and MS-DOS commands, not GNU Linux/Unix. This bank is one of the largest in the world. Their service is also horrible and I honestly don't understand why I still use them.
  21. I'm guessing the new office will be in the transit shithole of Surrey or Langley as usual, just like the old office. If that's the case... I don't think anyone will be taking transit there regardless LOL
  22. Not aware of any reason they would do so? Canada is open to tourism as long as you are fully vaccinated and don't actively have COVID symptoms.
  23. Don't buy by brand, ever. What are you needing that would need more than 760W? Unless you have a 3090 Ti, it's probably enough. Most modern PSUs with no in-cable capacitors will fit your needs just fine, including Corsair cables.
