  1. Seems like you've covered a lot of your bases. Maybe see if connecting to a different device? Like try connecting a different device to the Ethernet port on the powerline or try connecting something other then the powerline to the port on your computer? That might decipher which device the port went bad on if a port did indeed fail.
  2. So I was curious. We have a Samsung TV that has the capability of turning on our HDMI Devices that are plugged into it just be sourcing to that HDMI source. For Samsung it's called Anynet+. Is there a switch that supports this HDMI Link that when you source the HDMI switch to that input, it will turn on the device? I have been looking but all I can find are switches that will go to that input when the HDMI Device is powered on, but the user must power it on. If this exists I definitely want one. Thank you all.
  3. Alright thanks. Ill probably give this a shot.
  4. Only problem is that the two computers that the printer needs to be used on are part of a domain. Would this option still be viable of that is the case?
  5. So today I was informed that administration at the school I go to has banned teacher's personal printers from being connected over the schools network. No Wi-Fi no ethernet, nothing. They are only allowed to connect them via USB. Only problem is that our Band directors share a single printer, and they both need to be able to access and print to it on their own computers. I've been looking and thinking and found a USB switch, but this is not ideal as you have to manually switch all the time who gets to use it. Alternatively I was thinking about using the computer that we use as a server to run our uniform program as the host that used the built in windows printer sharing to share it to both computers. Does anyone have a better idea or if not which do you think is a better solution?
  6. Hi. I am basically looking to create a simple program that will run on a small screen from preferably a raspberry pi. It needs to interface with a fingerprint scanner, so that when someone scans their fingerprint, it says their name and their Uniform number. At this point you can press in or out and it would take it would count it however you selected. Later, when they check the uniforms back in it would need to have a menu to see how many uniforms are still out or if they all have been turned back in. I have really no experience in programming so I would like something simple that I could learn fairly quickly. I hope this makes some sort of sense. Thanks.
  7. Basically I am currently running a GTX 1080 TI AMP Extreme Edtion with 3 x DisplayPort 1.4, 1 x HDMI 2.0b, and 1 x DL-DVI-D . The motherboard (Asus Z170 Premium) has Integrated graphics with a DP as an output. Everything works just fine with the computer, but for some reason the 1080 TI will not display the 5th monitor at all and will only work with the 4th one leaving me stuck with just 5 monitors. The 1080 TI will only output to 4 displays at one time. Interchanging the cables and monitors doesn't change it. It will only allow 4 outputs. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! 8. Exactly... I was like hmm... Don't quite think it works like that...
  9. So I work at a computer repair place called Millennium 3, and this lady calls me on the phone. She starts rambling on about something on her computer. I could barely understand her but she went on saying she didn't want the "e man" She says that said "e man" chases the fox around and makes it not work. At this point it takes all I have not to be laughing uncontrollably. She goes on that she wants more RAM. Of course, I told her that we could upgrade her RAM in her laptop but it would cost her extra. Upon continuing this conversation, She had RAM confused with the Hard drive. I don't think she ever got it straight even after multiple explanations. She also said she could "smell it get hot sometimes." Another huge pet peeve is when a customer calls the tower the Hard drive. Anyway, As customers are hilarious, there will be plenty more stories to follow this one from me haha.
