  1. Yeah followed good old Linus tutorial from years ago but sadly I think dead dead as still no output
  2. Thanks kind of forgot about oven trick lmao giving it a go now we'll see if it fixes it
  3. Hi guys, Was wondering if there's anything further I can try to get an MSI GTX 770 to display. I bought one knowing it was advertised as non working but was only $10 so I thought to give it a shot. GPU spins but nothing is displayed, I've re sited many times to make sure but nothing, I installed drivers for it but still no change. It's not the mobo as my RTX 2060 works fine is there anything I could try potentially to try to get it run? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. decent budget build but like boggy said it shouldn't cost anywhere near $1700
  5. I ended up going with the nzxt water-cooling solution where you but a bracket and then attach the aio to it temps went from 87 Mac under load to 50 and costed around £90 definitely worth it
  6. you should be able to just unplug the power led plug on your motherboards front io connection
  7. Even without overclocking going with a cheap motherboard will limit yourself in terms of upgrade path so I would suggest your friend saves up and buys something along the lines of a z390 it's really noth worth the time buying a h310 m motherboard so just save up a bit longer. Also over a 9500 the 9600kf only gives you a 5 fps boost on average so without sounding too rude it wasn't a really good choice but it's your friends decision at the end of the day
  8. i personally have a corsair rm650x 80+ gold fully modular and its a great power supply, it will be powerful enough to power your rig and in general is a very reliable PSU,
  9. Also it will be much better value to return the CPU and wait for 4th gen ryzen and b550 motherboard or if he really wants it now and can't wait get ryzen 5 3600 on a b450
  10. If he's not interested in overclocking then why has he bought a k processor? Not trying to be rude but you spent extra money to get an overclocking processor and then you want to get a no overclocking motherboard as he does t want to overclock. If able to I would return the CPU and save by getting a non k processor and put that money to another part of the build
  11. Do you have your PC connected to a power strip? rarely but sometimes if the power strip is of lower quality it can cause instabilities, I would try using a mains socket it might not do anything but worth a try as one of my friends had a similar issue
  12. what CPU did he exactly get? if its a K (overclockable variant) then i would recommend something along the lines of a Z390 Motherboard to take full advantage of the features.
  13. Could be a couple things, I would first try to put in a spare gpu if you have one to see if that works if it does work then it could be something to do with the software or the hardware on the Intel graphics, download the latest drives for the chipset and see if that fixes it if not then it's a hardware fault on the cou itself. If plugging in a gpu doesn't work then I would attempt a fresh install of windows as again it could be driver related. Hope I helped a little bit
  14. Just my input if possible I suggest building a really small form factor PC that will fit in a backpack as I've personally had gaming laptops over 1k and they all broke after a year of regular college use. Plus if you get a laptop you are limiting your options, if a cpu fails the whole thing gets thrown away, same thing with gpu rather than just replacing the failed part you will have to replace the whole laptop and so for that reason alone I don't recommend gaming laptops
  15. First question is do you have a monitor that can take advantage of higher refresh rates? If not maybe consider one as it really improves the experience, second do you need a PC right now? If not wait until ryzen 4000 comes out as its rumoured to be really amazing. If you want a PC now and you want a good high refresh rate experience I would recommend a 2060 super instead of the 2070 super and buy a high refresh rate monitor, also you said you're doing gaming a lite streaming you don't need 32gb for that get a 2x8 3200/3600 ram for around £70-80.also do you need that case you chose as again you can save a bit and go with one for around 70-80 to free up a bit of budget to get the most bang for your buck. You could even put that spare money towards a better keyboard or better monitor. Also this is personal experience but like the person above mentioned the RX 5700xt is good value however and have been known for poor drivers although that may not be the case but like I said its preference depends where you live to in the UK a 5700xt is £30 more and only 9% faster so consider that too if it's cheaper where you live I would consider it. Also when it comes to cooler me and two of my friends have both experienced that temps are quite high with the stock cooler 90c max when under load and so if you want best bang for your buck get a noctua cooler or be quiet if you have spare budget and want to spend it on an aio then go for it but ideally get a noctua fan. The motherboard I wouldn't go x570 no need you will 0 advantages over b450 with a ryzen 5 3600, either get b450 or b550 when it comes out but no need to waste money on an x570
  16. So finnaly after oc my msi ventus 2070 super to a stable +120 on core and +850 on memory with 56 max degree after an hour stress test I achieved 143.4 fps with a score of 3611 and I can replicate it every time. Let me know if this is a good score for a 2070 super, thanks.
  17. Just to add onto it the MSI ventus oc rtx 2070 super is the easiest GPU I have ever taken apart it takes 4 screws to separate the PCB for the heat sink and the backplate stays on so you don't sacrifice it which is great.
  18. Hello, So I built my computer around 2 months ago and ever since i got it my GPU Temps have always been on 88c when gaming or running any GPU benchmark even though fan were at 60-70% and so I decided to water cool it. My CPU was already cooled by an AIO and so instead of doing a custom water loop i decided to buy an NZXT G12 bracket and a corsair H55 AIO and water cool it that way. I personally paid £70 in total for this and the results are really amazing I went from a max temperature of 88C to 56C and an idle temp of 45-48c to 29C, this has also allowed me to overclock my card further achieving +601 on the memory and +115 on the core. I have decided to include some images of the rig, afterburner temps and heaven benchmark result.
  19. Even though it's a 2080 ventus oc cause I'm looking at them side by side and they look the exact same
  20. Hi so I have an MSI 2070 Super ventus oc and the temps are really high which is apparently fairly normal on the ventus cards and so I would like to water cool it as I'm planning on doing a custom loop anyways but I can't find any water blocks for my specific model and so if I get a water block that supports the 2080 version will it work due to them basically being the same card internally? Thanks.

  22. i generally just use a digger tbf its quite effective at getting more power out of your shots
  23. yeah idk whats gone wrong with it i dont necessarily abuse it but im a palm grip
  24. Hi I currently have both an msi mag271c and a mag27. the mag272 is a new release from msi and i would recommend the msi mag272c which would be the same monitor i have but i dont have the curved one. It's 165HZ VA panel with really nice color reproduction and viewing angles. However if you are the kind of person that wouldn't mind sacrificing the color accuracy and overall look then i would suggest one of these ASUS VG258QR 25" Full HD 165Hz 0.5ms which would be better for competitive play as both the mag271 and mag272 have a noticeable amount of ghosting compared to the asus one above but if you decide you want a well performing but also a monitor that can deliver great visuals i would recommend the mag272 link: https://ao.com/product/9s63ca51t001-msi-optix-mag272c-monitor-black-72979-258.aspx?gclid=CjwKCAjw4pT1BRBUEiwAm5QuR_All9XdOLKLq9Q2OriHG3t68in_otygeXtDfX3uHPelvPmrbivx_xoCQswQAvD_BwE&&WT.z_PT=Computing&WT.z_AT=Gaming Monitor&WT.z_MT=Search&WT.z_MAT=MSI&WT.z_FT=Free Standing&WT.z_PC=9S6-3CA51T-001&WT.srch=1&WT.z_KW=9S6-3CA51T-001&WT.z_DT=c&WT.z_RTM=PLA&ef_id=CjwKCAjw4pT1BRBUEiwAm5QuR_All9XdOLKLq9Q2OriHG3t68in_otygeXtDfX3uHPelvPmrbivx_xoCQswQAvD_BwE:G:s&s_kwcid=AL!8149!3!325788365177!!!g!295039142066!&&WT.z_CN=CE - Monitors - MSI&WT.z_AG=Brand Type&WT.z_KW=Rest Hope I helped.
