  1. Room temp is between 22 c and 25 c, mine pushes 87 on balanced mode after the boost ends.
  2. The ambient temperature where the test was performed in is in the range of 22-25 c, the laptop is also given about an inch (2 and a bit cm) of clearance. Well it's nice to hear that this is as expected, i got concerned because when stressed, the GPU got up to 70 c, and so it seemed odd to me that the disparity in temperature would be that large. Also with my only prior experience being with well-cooled or low-powered PCs, this seemed unusual.
  3. So I noticed my laptop was overheating and I decided to open it up and blow out dust from fans and coolers (there was a lot) after that i decided to stress test the laptop. This is Prime95 running for ~15 min on stress test settings. Is CPU being pegged at 100 C normal, this was with Performance mode on, when on balanced mode it would get up to 90-95 c for a min or so and then drop to 87 c, along with core clocks dropping from 3.1 to 2.6 - 2.7 Ghz. On battery saving it would peak at 67 c while not going above 2.1 Ghz. In reviews i managed to dig up the reviewer said that it would peak at 80 c when running prime95 stress test(didn't mention the performance mode, but i doubt it was battery saver). Will these temps cause problems, I've had the laptop for 18 months now, and it was probably running like this all the time (although only on balanced or power saving modes) and not being stress tested. Laptop Specs are as follows: CPU: AMD R7 5800h RAM: 16Gb GPU: RTX 3050
  4. yes but i live in europe so its more expensive here by default
  5. Im a student and have been looking to upgrade from my old probook 450 g4 to this, but it seems too good to be true.https://www.lenovo.com/ch/de/laptops/yoga/yoga-slim-series/Yoga-Slim-7-Pro-Gen-6-16-inch-AMD/p/LEN101Y0005
  6. Thanks, I've a feeling it will also help keep chrome under control for a while.
  7. I've gotten a hand me down Hp Probook 450 G4 on my hands with an i7 7500u 250Gb SATA SSD, and 8Gb of ddr4 2133 MHz ram, My question is does it make more sense to get a 500gb-1tb NVME drive or get an additional 8gb of ram. Some context: I am a Uni student and not rarely do i find myself with 10+ tabs open while looking things up, but I also like to play lightweight games on the side such as Terraria, Minecraft(modded as much as i can get away with), WoW classic, League of legends etc. And I've found myself running short on both ram and storage lately, I will likely upgrade both, but which should I upgrade first given that money is kind of hard to come by right now. P.S. The reason i want to get an NVME drive as opposed to a SATA one is because i have a spare Laptop Hard drive but not a spare Sata slot to plug it in to.
  8. The cable might be the one to blame here, i switched the outputs on the displays and rebooted my system and now its the HDMI Display that's having issues. but then that doesnt seem like its the cause as the issue fixes itself when i yank the cable out of my gpu and plug it back in, so maybe windows update fucked something up, like it may be trying to run the display at 10 bits or smth
  9. I could try to run the display trough an HDMI cable using and adapter, but i dont have any spare DVI Cables to test.
  10. Addendum: the issue fixes itself when i physically pull the cable out of my pc and plug it back in, and it stays fixed until the next startup. Also it started happening after i updated to windows 10 May 2020 update.
  11. The display in question is samsung SyncMaster 971p to whom it may concern, this started happening recently, and it doesn't happen on my other display. i tried switching the display outputs, but nothing changes. the first image is of my HDMI display and the 2nd is from the display in question, i know the pic quality is poop but artifacts are clearly visible. I tried running the HDMI display on DVI to check if my port is broken but no artifacts occur.
  12. Given that you recently switched out the PSU I will rule that out with 90% confidence, To see if its a case switch issue you can try to short the pins on your mobo which are connected to the power switch, alternatively you can look at your motherboard and try to press a built in power button, if it has one. When it comes to finding out which pins to short, you can usually find a pin layout for just about any motherboard. after eliminating that, its either your cpu or ram, your best option is to test everything individually or "breadboard" it. as the guy above suggested. your PC seems to be powercycling, so your switch is fine, just "breadboard it"
  13. This is a standard small USB Bluetooth dongle with a few issues which might confuse some people. The dongle itself works great but for some reason when i plug it in the back of my PC it struggles to work, it breaks up, stutters and has in some cases ridiculous latency, my guess would be because it either gets too much RF noise while trying to go to my PC or it's just incompatible with the USB controller. On the front it works just fine. 2nd, this thing only works with USB 2.0 ports i haven't tested earlier ones, but USB 3.0 Doesn't work, unless its going trough a dongle, a dongle which itself can have a USB 3.0 port, which leads me to believe that its a controller issue on my MOBO so i can not guarantee that you will have the same experience, given that almost every board has multiple variations with different USB/network controllers, it may just work on all ports, or it may not work at all. Given all my current experiences its a decent dongle, if you have no other choice(built in Bluetooth or a better dongle) that only costs a few bucks and in most cases gets the job done.
  14. yeah, didn't mention but the 3770 is in a sff case, the only reason i bought 1050ti instead of an rx 480/580
  15. Hi, so I'm planning to upgrade from my i7 3770 to r3 3300x, i mostly play games with occasional rendering, so ipc is kinda important to me. Is this a good upgrade, or should I go for something more powerful, I mostly play minecraft modpacks, which are CPU and RAM hogs, also a bit of GTA, Overwatch, Esports, etc. A bit off topic but might influence your reply: My current GPU is 1050Ti but im considering replacing it with a 5700xt because its the only reasonably priced Mid-high end brand new gpu in my country, its mostly for future proffing, i replace my gpus every 3-4 years usually.
