tv My TV isn't receiving power, won't turn on: How can I repair it?
Eup replied to Eup's topic in Troubleshooting
I ended up breaking them off. The exact fuses I need are on amazon. I'm gonna have to re-solder them on. -

@SupaKomputaI inspected every capacitor and there wasn't any obvious bulging or anything, so I think we're all good in that department as well. Thanks a ton for your help, I should be able to fix it now! Edit: Just kidding lol, I can't figure out how to disconnect the bad fuses ?? -

@SupaKomputa I checked both fuses and both fuses read 130-140. My multi meter doesn't have a dedicated continuity test mode, so I set it to the lowest resistance setting and tested it, but it still wouldn't read any less than 120. -

@SupaKomputa I just have spare time and I enjoy learning/doing things myself, so I don't really mind all that much. -
tv My TV isn't receiving power, won't turn on: How can I repair it?
Eup replied to Eup's topic in Troubleshooting
@SupaKomputaI appreciate the advice, but I have some experience working with electricity (building robots, wiring outlets during basement renovation). I should be fine, and of course it won't be plugged in at all during the fixing process, other than to use my multi-meter for testing. I found the fuse(s), they're configured in a "Double-Pole/Neutral Fusing" setting, although I don't know what that means. I'm assuming if I need to replace them, I'd have to replace both though. -

@SupaKomputa So I removed the back-plate. Since I'm so accustomed to PC building, I figured the PSU would be a box of some type, but of course it's not. So is the PSU the very center, white PCB in the picture? -

The transparent buttons at the top light up when I press the power button and stuff, but regardless the power button on the TV wont turn it on either. I don't think that's the issue, and either way I wouldn't be able to program a remote to the TV since I can't get it on. -

@SupaKomputa Thanks for the info that helps a ton, I'll go look at the fuse now (assuming it's accessible and everything). -

The power cable is very basic, and I don't know how it could have failed, but I'm buying a replacement just in case. -

So, I have a Sharp Liquid Crystal TV (Model: LC-52LE820UN) that just died on me, I went to turn it on, and no matter what I do, it will not turn on. I've followed the instructions in the manual, and here, so I'm certain that it isn't user error. (No, lightning did not kill it; additionally, it's always been connected to a surge protector). I have the means to disassemble the TV and get out the soldering iron if I need to, but i don't have any experience fixing TV's. What are some of the issues my TV might have, and how can I go about repairing it? (No, I do not have a warranty.) -
Yeah, I thought I remembered hearing somewhere that Ryzen benefits alot by having faster RAM or something like that ? I'm definitely gonna look into it.

I'm gonna say 'Hi' here like it says. So... Hello! A good friend introduced me to computer building during my freshman year in high school (2016), and I learned a lot about how computers were put together with his help. We had a lot of spare time in our keyboarding class, so we spent it mostly drooling over imaginary computers we put together on the System Builder. I loved repairing/building/upgrading friends and family member's computers and still do to this day, but it was my sophomore year around Christmas when I would finally get my own. My parents took notice of my interest in computers and decided to let me give them a parts list rather than a Christmas list that year. This was my first computer build and is still the one I use today. Other than small modifications I make here and there to increase performance, my first build is still holding strong
