Am I the only one who thinks the lives of small children (toddler and a bit older) is completely fucked over thanks to their parents just letting them use their iphone for hours on end because they can't be bothered entertaining them?

    For a toddler; yes.

When I'm a parent I will never let this happen to my child. It's just so wrong!

Surely the problem here is parents who ignore their child for hours because they can't be bothered interacting with them, not the thing they're given to amuse them in the mean time?

Parents are getting lazier and lazier.

Parents are totally to blame for this, but the device is what is consuming them. My not even 2 year old niece can pick up her mums iphone, call her sister, and leave voice mail. Not even 2!

That's just because the iPhones a damn good toy. I'm still not seeing a problem aside from the lack of parental attention.

    The phone's a problem because it's addictive.

Since when? Is there some chemical used in it's construction that users become dependent on?

I was laying the path for him. You take bigger strides.

Still, we reach the same destination even if it is a little less elegantly. You not only need to demonstrate that the child is psychologically addicted, but also that that addiction is somehow down to some aspect of the iPhone, otherwise that addiction is again everything to do with the parent and nothing to do with the iPhone.
