  1. Hello, I'm building a Homelab server with the following parts: Ryzen 7 1700, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3060, R9 290, 4TB * 2 (raid 1), 1TB * 2 (raid 1), 240 GB SSD (boot drive), and a 850 watt psu from CoolerMaster. I'm trying to find an OS for my that I can create virtual machines for Windows 10, Windows 11, Linux (ubuntu), and MacOS (Monterey). I want to find an OS where I can play anti cheat games (like Lost Ark and Valorant). Reason is because I have a roommate and she has low end hardware and an old laptop thats not capable of playing games at a bearable frame rate. So instead of her buying parts, I figure I just share my hardware. The second hardest requirement is sharing the 3060 with the host, and the two windows virtual machine. Ideally I would also want to split the R9 290 gpu with my linux and macos vm, but if I can only passthrough to one vm I would choose my linux vm. I have experimented with Proxmox, but it detected anti cheat on the windows virtual machines. And it didn't have the split gpu resources feature that I was looking for. I also experimented with using Ubuntu server, but I've read that Lost Ark isn't compatible with Linux. My third attempt is using Windows 10 Pro with Hyper - V. I was able to split my 3060 among my guest and windows vms via easy-gpu-pv. But I was not sure how to pass through my amd graphics card to 1-2 virtual machines and create a macos vm. Any and all ideas are appreciated!
  2. I mainly access my NAS from home. What do you think about my idea of powerline/wifi bridge >extra router (ap mode) > connect nas with Ethernet? That seems like my only option
  3. Hello, I know I know "you shouldnt use wifi and use ethernet", but that isnt an option, i cant drill any holes either. i currently have a pcie wifi card installed, but freenas isnt detecting it so im looking for options. currently i have a 50 mb plan but in within the next 5 years i should have fiber. i was looking into a wireless portable wifi adapter Vonets VAP11G-300 i was also looking into power line adapters as well like this . i know that power lines are highly dependent on your circuit board at home. i feel like my circuit board should be fine since the outlet im planning on using is around 8 feet. What are your thoughts, which device would freenas detect? anything that im overlooking? depending on which is better, i might connect it to an old router and enable AP mode. so both my nas and main pc can use ethernet again, but im not sure how much my speed will degrade, also im not sure if this will work in the first place
  4. Yeah I got it from that website. My bad looks like my copy and paste didn't work (my original post was on reddit). My windows 10 version is most recent. It is not being detected in device manager. I thought the NIC driver was just for the ethernet port, but I will try to see if that will fix it. I didn't upgrade to F13c yet, just in case there are bugs. So instead I'm going to upgrade to F12.
  5. Hello, I recently migrated my parts from Aorus AX370 Gaming K7 to B550 Aorus Pro. My WiFi card was working on the Gaming K7 but its not working on B550. On B550, I tried bios F2, F12, and F10 and nothing allowed my card to work, I got it from here . I also tried installing drivers from here and that didnt work either. I also tried this but that didnt work either. On my bios, it is not being detected but, when im looking at my wifi card, i see a blue light, so im assuming it has power. I can upload a picture if that helps. I also tried my other PCIE slots and it didnt work. Ive been trying to solve this for about 2 days and im running out of ideas.
  6. I am not planning on trying to get a RTX 30 series card. I am going to be perfectly satisfied with a RTX 2070 Super card. I'm buying it from my friend for a decent price sometime this year. Unfortunately according to PcPartpicker, Fractal Design SFX is out of stock and Seasonic is 160 usd where the power supplies that I listed was around 120-130 usd. I was planning on upgrading my motherboard later, for now its just a place holder (I need to start taking into consideration for Christmas presents that I will need to buy). But I looked at my motherboard compatibility on the Aorus website, it said its compatible. Also thank you for reminding me that vendors sell dummy sticks, I totally forgot about that.
  7. according to PcPartpicker, i do have access to Seasonic Focus SGX 650w, but its $160.
  8. thank you for your reply. what do you think about the corsair sf gold model? Corsair SF is $120, Silverstone is $127.
  9. I can't decide between Corsair SF (600w) Silverstone SX650-G (650w), FSP Group Dagger Pro (650w), and EVGA SuperNova GM (650w). Right now I'm leaning towards a Ryzen 5 3600XT but depending on Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales I may purchase a 3700/X. pcpartpicker list note: also might do minor overclocking on cpu and gpu.
  10. Starting to plan out my black and white build since the Lian-Li dynamic mini is releasing 1-2 months. Should I buy ARCTIC F12 PWM fans for this case? I'm looking for black and white (no rgb) and value.
  11. heres my setup: fluance sx6, smsl sa-50 amp, monoprice desktop amp/dac, philips shp9500. i think my dac is dying, it gives one speaker and additional 50% in volume. it also affects my headphones. i did a temp fix where i manual lowered one side so they sound the same. and also my smsl sa-50 used to have a blue ring around the knob but it doesnt appear anymore (but it doesnt affect performance i think). assuming i cant find a monoprice amp/dac, what should i replace or upgrade to? if i wanted to replacement it i dont want to spend anymore than 120. if i want to upgrade it at most i would spend up to 200. the highest headphones that i would ever use would either be hd600/hd6xx or beyerdynamic dt990. i would like to buy it from usa amazon. do you have any suggestions?
  12. Whoa I never seen this case before. Will take this case into consideration, thanks! My budget is less than $100 and my location is Hawaii.
