  1. For many years I've been desperately searching for the perfect audiophile/professional grade headphones. Well, I think I've found them. https://litheadphones.com
  2. I want to upgrade to an ultrawide monitor (32-34 inches) but the shelf on my desk is 7ish inches wide. The shape of my desk makes it nearly impossible for me to use a monitor arm. I have considered the Samsung CF791 but I would prefer a non curved display. Do any of you guys have a suggestion for a flat ultrawide monitor with a narrow base?
  3. 1- The history of USB or data connections in general. You could throw in firewire and even go over some of the strange serial connections on older machinery! Also, the history of video inputs could be neat 2- I don't know how you would title this, but I would love a video about Women in tech/Women in gaming. It would be neat to have a video talking about why the culture against women online exists (or the absolute sexual creepiness). I think it is fascinating how women in tech can enrage so many members of the community! . Shoot, look at the comments about Max! I imagine the comments section would be very angry... No matter what you would get comments about #feminazis but, It is important to make a statement of "don't be a jerk to people on the internet." We are building a community here! 3- I would love videos talking about careers in tech! The philosophy of service for IT staff, how a non-LMG film crew works, or just what it is like to work in software/hardware. 4- I would love a video about variation within device manufacturing (or device failure rates). I work in IT so I have 100 laptops that are exactly the same and out of the box they have substantially different speed, screen clarity and performance. I imagine higher end products have less variation but it would be a neat video!
  4. So, a friend gave me 16 gigs of DDR4 RAM. It's awesome, but.... I have a beautiful Z170 Stinger with the ugliest green RAM pcb. I know I can buy aftermarket heat spreaders but most of them are ugly/cheap looking My Idea: I have access to a high powered laser cutter and engraver and some thin sheet aluminum. I want to create my own heat spreader and attach it using thermal tape. I could design a custom engraving and distract from the awful green RAM. Heat spreaders are roughly useless so I don't imagine it would impact cooling. I guess my question is- would that work? Also, I feel like someone has probably tried this before but I couldn't find any examples. Any suggestions?
  5. I have seen few as kickstarters that are designed for laptop charging over USB C. I believe the price will be comparable to the dell battery bank.
  6. The engine isn't great and the story is meh.... The glitches are.... insane. We waited YEARS for this. It is a great game for one playthrough. I ran through the main storyline most of the sidequests and now... Im bored! I waited years for this and I can't pretend I am not disappointed.
  7. I have tried a few different laptop powerbanks on my xps13. Unfortunately, I finally broke down and bought the dell branded one. Its actually a great power bank! I have heard there are some USB C charging banks coming out soon that may work?!?!?!
  8. somewhere between flashy and professional? I definitely want a window but durability is very important to me! With my job I will be moving every 6-9 months so I am trying to keep my home office light but powerful. Tempered glass is okay... but I haven't really loved any tempered glass cases. I don't particularly care about silent cases just silent cooling
  9. Hi! I suppose I should start this with an explanation.... I work in IT so I have built and rebuilt a few dozen computers. I am graduating college in May (Yay!) and I am looking to replace my alienware alpha to a legitimate PC. For the record, I'd totally recommend an alpha for college students! It is easy to move and powerful enough mine is going in the living room! Through my job I picked up a lot of PC components through trade, repair, or whatever. These parts are a bit disjointed and are guiding my build. I have a job lined up which will allow me to work from home. I need to have the power to handle some video editing, some CAD software/3d work and I play a handful of games. I am not a 4k kind of lady, I just want a solid powerful computer. My budget is pretty flexible at the moment. My main goals: Quiet and small! I would prefer as close to fanless as possible. I want something with great bones with room to improve it. I am not looking for "future proof" or ultra powerful. I am a HUGE cable management freak so I want a case with awesome cable management. What I have: 2- 1 TB WD Blue HDD 1- 250 GB 850 EVO SSD 1- PNY GeForce GTX 1050 TI 4 GB GDDR5 2- 8GB DDR4 at 2133MHz What I am probably getting I5-6400 - I am not an overclocker and is a solid price/performance 650 Watt Corsair SFX Power supply- fits in case and room for future graphics card upgrades Gigabyte GA-H170N-WIFI - Mini ITX, USB type C, LGA 1151, M.2 compatible, black color,-- Not many choices. If you know of something similar/better please let me know! My main debate..... I love the BH2 mitx case in the berry color. http://www.caselabs-store.com/bullet-bh2-mitx-case-customizable/ I am not fond of the delayed shipping (MAY?!?!?) and I am unsure if I should go ahead and buy such an expensive case for my first personal build. I love the size, horizontal motherboard, cable management opportunities, build quality, and color. Do you have a suggestion for a different case with similar build quality? Do you have a suggestion for a different but similar case? If you have any experience with this case I would love to hear your experiences! Cooling!?!?!? In the future I'd love to look into AIO/liquid cooling but I have not decided what I should get for now? Any recommendations for quiet, small, decent air coolers? At the moment my plan is build system with stock cooler and find out what I need. Thoughts overall? Thanks!
