Nah. At 1440p, with a 1080 Ti and 6700k, you're usually going to be GPU bound, assuming higher graphics settings.

What kind of person recommends a 1070 or 1080 for 1080p???  They are  overkill  for it, 1070 is a 1440p card and 1080 is a ultra 1440/medium to high 4k card.
 
1060/580 will pretty nicely max out 1080p.

Why are we talking about the CPU, when the OP has a 6700k?

Judging by what everyone on the forum says, the K70 is equally great. But whatever you do, don't buy a Razer keyboard. Please, for our peace of mind and yours, don't.

1. We don't know if her boyfriend has a 1080Ti or a Titan X or whatever.
2. She didn't mention the resolution so I thought 4k would be the hot spot.
3. My first advice was that she talked to her man, because he knows best what he needs. I mean, she could get a FreeSync monitor while he uses an Nvidia card, or the other way around.
4. I didn't really have much time to check all the monitors possible, so I just found one with 1 ms response time, 4k and on discount, for more or less the price she can afford.
5. Instead of arguing with me you could bring a better suggestion

That's your PSU failing. Either it's not getting enough airflow through it and it's tripping the high temp cutoff or it's actually failing. I went through this same situation with my EVGA 1600T2. The fan was failing to turn on and would hit the thermal limit which would cause the PSU to go into failsafe.

As @samcool55 said, most people use monitoring tools, like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner, or a widget thing like Rainmeter.
 
It's probably not available much on the market anymore because 1. 5.25" bays are going the way of the dodo and 2. it forces you to put your case where you can see the front which is kind of limiting.

My boy what the fuck 50000 bitrate. Idk if you mistyped and put in an extra zero when you wrote 5000 bitrate but you'd need a NASA supercomputer to handle that shit
