  1. Hi, Thanks for writing above.

As @HanZie82 replied to me. I agree with him that I am wrong about DOS.

I have to correct the title of post to looking  for "New Laptops with no OS installed"

    Examples:

    Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 2021 11th Gen Intel Core i3 15.6" (39.62cm) FHD Thin & Light Laptop (8GB/256GB SSD/DOS/2 Year Warranty/Arctic Grey/1.65Kg), 82H801DHIN https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09BCQCDF2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_MYQJ0GD3Q5TW9AYY9N2Z

There could be better way's to do this, but I suggest looking into a spdif switcher so you can select the source for your audio to go with your soundbar

Hi, thanks for the link. I appreciate your smart thinking about the product. Basically I am trying to avoid the adapter I mentioned in the Question. When I play on PS4 I will put on end of the Optical Cable to PS4's SPDIF Output while other end stays in the Sound System that I am going to use. When I want to use HTPC, I will remove the Optical Cable from PS4 and put it to HTPC's SPDIF Output. the link you shared is really a smart idea but in my case I think it will occupy more table space and more Optical Cables.

Is this for home theater or a desk solution and what is your budget?

Its for home usage only. PC and PS4 are connected with HDMI Cable to a HP HD Monitor which does not have speakers.

Regarding Budjet, I want to use the advantage of Optical Cable without any adapters, which ever sound system that starts with low price that has optical input, I will go with it. I can spend maximum of 700USD for the sound system but if any sound system that has optical in for lesser price, I will go with it.

    What exactly are you after?

Are you after a speaker system which has optical input for all your devices or a adapter which will convert optical into a jack so you can plug a sound system into it?

I want to buy a sound system that has optical input. rite now I have LG sound system that does not have optical input. the PC, TV and PS4 all these have optical out. when I use TV, I want sound from the sound system ( which I am going to buy) which has optical input. likewise when I use PC, I want sound from the sound system(  which I am going to buy) which has optical input. Same for PS4 Also.

optical connects to optical (spdif)  did you remove the cap off the end of the cable?  I've made that mistake before and couldn't plug it in

it should just plug right in but I'm unaware if TV's can take optical input or it's just output

Why aren't you just using hdmi for audio? or are you using vga or dvi?

What is your goal? To output sound to your TV? From the PC or the playstation or both?

if you are using hdmi just use that for audio

Hi, I did not remove the cap off the both ends of the cable.

mobo, tv and ps4 all have outputs only.

goal is to buy a sound system that can intake from above 3 like when I want sound from PC, I will connect to it. when I want sound from TV, I will connect to it, like wise when I play with PS4 I would like to use the sound system that has input from PS4's output.

  7. I have

    1. a assembled PC, the motherboard has "SPDIF OUT" slot.

    2. a LG TV which has the same slot back side of the TV.

    3. PS4 Pro also having the same slot.

seeing the slots above, I have purchased this product amazon link but I did not find any device that can intake this cables other end.

I romed some electronics shops and they said buy adapter.

So, I recently had to buy this product Amazon Link

I wonder is it impossible to produce the sound out with out the adapter? please share any devices which can intake from the optical cable itself.

Just don't forget that if you're buying a Ryzen CPU with an integrated GPU that you pair it with a compatible motherboard that also has display connections on its rear I/O, and take into account even those are variable (i.e. some will have a single HDMI port, some will have both an HDMI and a DIsplayPort, etc.).

thank you for the valuable suggestion.. I really appreciate your point of thinking..

  9. I am a normal user of PC's. I started building PC's for my self and relatives.. Till today I used Intel Processors since last 6 years..

Now I have plans to shift to AMD processors..

I never used graphic cards for the PC's I built those are with Intel Processors.

When I go through the AMD website, it has the names like Processors with Radeon Graphics or say Ryzen and Ryzen with Graphics.. I am referring to this page https://www.amd.com/en/processors/athlon-desktop.

Say I Choose "Ryzen",  does this mean do I need to buy Graphics Card mandatory? and "Ryzen with Graphics" means I can run the system as I ran with intel processors and have the option of Graphics Card?

Is the cpu cooler fan spinning? Do you have a fan plugged into the cpu_fan header?

The error pops up when there isn't a fan rpm detected from the cpu_fan header or the rpm is too low. The setting can usually be turned off in the motherboard settings.

fan is running.. PC works as normal except that error in every boot after changing the custom fan to stock fan.

  11. I have i7-4770 CPU paired with ASUS H81T mobo.

I have installed custom cpu fan Antec A30. no error.

Recently i have replaced the Antec A30 fan with normal Intel stock fan.

Every time system boots, it is giving me error "CPU Fan error! press F1 to Continue"

what could be the problem? how can i solve this?

    PS: System is working normal

Only the error comes up with every boot.

  12. If I select windows boot manager, system is taking me to Ubuntu... How can we recommend manufacturers to avoid this (unwanted entries) in future? Thanks for you efforts to answer my question.

  13. I have this problem on 2 pcs..

    Asus H81T and Asus H61M-CS

Both are single boots with Ubuntu 18.04.1 with single HDD's

I understand the concept of "duplicate entries for one OS" but I don't have windows in my both the systems and still they show "Windows Boot Manager"

  14. I even formatted my entire 1tb HDD and the repartioned the disk and installed Ubuntu 18.04.1 in it. But still it shows the same.. I am wondering why it still shows windows boot manager in the boot menu options. I even removed two rams and installed after 5min but no change. I think it's controlled by Asus h81t mobo. I have checked it on Asus h61m-cs mobo also.. Same problem.. I will Check with asrock h110 stx mobo in a while and get back to you. Can you suggest app in Ubuntu 18.04.1 for efibootmanager?

  15. Thanks for your reply.

From your answer, i understood that, boot menu is holding all the previous bootable OS's.. Yes I have several times installed different OS's, dual booted but never wiped entire hard disk as I have main storage partitions.

Is it not possible by clearing some jumpers from the mobo or removing battery as my pc is easily accessible??

  16. Dear Experts,

is it common that Boot Menu shows many options?

I have only one OS installed in my pc, it is Ubuntu & installed in UEFI mode, GPT.

    ASUS H81T

    6GB RAM

    1TB HDD

for some reason i have to choose from Boot Menu, then it is confusing me, the boot menu with 4 options (please see the attached image)

is there a way to show only the options for example if it is dual boot, only those two OS's names. if it is single boot, only its name?

  17. Dear Experts,

i am confused with Pixels & Display Resolution..

I bought few monitors and TV's during last 10 years without knowing the concept of Pixels & Resolution.

I was searching for this on web but still confused.

    1. are pixels having dimensions? like "1mm square" or "2mm square" something like this?

    2. is it possible to have 4K resolution in 20" TV 22" TV 24" TV 26" TV......................43" TV so on? if yes, in this case the size of the pixel varies?
