  1. Oh right okay weird. Whats weirder is i just found the cause, there was a startup command that said something about proton in it so i cleared it and now the game launches fine. I never added that startup command since i have nothing with linux on it which makes this really odd. Anyway problem solved thanks your suggestion about versions made me check that.
  2. So bit of a weird one and i can't find any information online. I went to launch Cyberpunk 2077 today for the first time in a while and the first time since the big 2.0 update and i keep getting this Windows error "Windows cannot find 'PROTON_LOG=1'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again". All i can find online is stuff related to Linux and this being a Linux issue but i don't use Linux I'm running an install of Win 10 that's perfectly stable haven't done anything weird to it, its just windows 10 and yet somehow i'm still stuck with Linux and it endless errors. Any ideas? (i've tried validating the game install)
  3. It's occured to me the MT602 is only an amp not a amp/dac so I'm now looking elsewhere.
  4. They are listed in ASUS's software as Blue - Line In Green - Speaker Out Pink - Mic in They're not left and right. I'll probably just have to get a 3.5mm to RCA adapter which i had originally planned on doing if there wasn't going to be a quality hit from doing so.
  5. B450i Strix and its a 3 jack audio output presumably due to being ITX so i only have the standard Red Green Blue jack outputs at the back. The MT602 is just an AMP as far as im aware.
  6. Before i start let me just say i've been building and using systems for years and have built up quite a knowledge of hardware from LGA 775 to now so i'm not an idiot... But when it comes to audio Ive got no clue mate. So based off my research and limited budget plus whats on drop right now i've settled for getting an MT-602 since it seem so fit what i want in terms of powering a pair of DT990's. I'm not an audiophile so i'm not going for the absolute best or whatever, for context i LOVED the sound of my Razer Kraken Kitty editions till they died so take that how you will. Now my only issue is awkward because it sounds dumb but, how exactly does the MT-602 connect to a PC? it has RCA input which as far as i can tell is the only input but my system being ITX doesn't have a sound card or anything that outputs RCA so am i supposed to use an adapter cable or is there a device that goes between my pc and the MT-602? i've no clue haha. (it'll be connected to a B450i Strix)
  7. Yeah that's the one I mean. Well that's a shame but not exactly suprising. I wish they would just make a bloody standard pinout for the PSU end of modular cables like they do on the component end, would make life a hell of a lot easier. That and sacking corsairs product naming team Guess I'll have to try and track down some second hand ones, thanks for your help.
  8. I love Corsair but using the same model numbers for different... Models is getting annoying haha. Can anyone tell me if the modular cables for the new style (black and Gray label) HX1000's, will fit the older style Blue label HX1000. I've got one of the older models and yes yes I know it's and older PSU don't worry it's going into a build not worth very much and isnt realistically gonna be run that often plus it's gonna be fully inspected before install so don't stress, I just need to know the deal with the modular cables. Cheers guys
  9. 3600 is just straight up out of the question just to clarify because if I'm gonna spend that much on CPU alone then I'm not going to bother for a while. Ram is just a case of I've already got and identical kit so if I bought this other kit for sale then atleast I'd have a full matching set of 16gb. They're Kingston HyperX Fury 2400 blacks btw.
  10. Worth the effort of upgrading or to just sit and wait. Forget it.
  11. Listing a price on here is generally pointless since the majority of people are from the US which is a totally different market but fine, $240 AUD
  12. Hey guys So I've found myself with that temptation to upgrade, I currently run an X58 W3680 6 core at 4ghz with a Vega 56 (64 bios). It runs well and I always seem to be GPU limited as I play at 1440p however I have the chance to buy an R7 2700 and 8gb DDR4 2400 rather well priced. Now I have a Ryzen system already with an R3 1200 and 8GB DDR4 2400 that's doing really nothing so I already have everything else to go to Ryzen if I buy the R7 and ram, Im just trying to decide whether I'm really gonna see any difference. Obviously I'm gaining a much better IPC and two more cores and yes I could go r5 3600 and get even better IPC but they're way more than its gonna cost me to get the R7 and the ram so I'm not even going there. Aside from the IPC gains I'd also be able to use USB 3 which I'll have to add to my case (keeping the OG xps9000 case), obviously M.2 and another x16 slot which would allow me to add a second low power GPU which I've been thinking of doing for a while just to run my 2nd display as I drop alot of frames watching something on my 2nd display while I'm gaming on my main. Anyway what do you think is it worth the effort or just wait till something better comes around?
  13. Yeah the connector is identical. Thanks for the confirmation ^-^
  14. Hey guys My friend has a Gigabyte 980Xtreme 4 and one of the fans has done a bearing so I've disconnected it and it's running okay but would like to get that fan replaced. The closest I could find look very much the same but for a different model so I was wondering if anyone here could confirm. Thanks guys https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3x-Cooling-Fan-Lufter-fur-Gigabyte-GTX1080ti-1080-1070-1060-75MM-T128010SU-0-35A/114190509006?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200520130048%26meid%3D6f48476ea2404b7b930fc9868187addf%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dco%26sd%3D392490385445%26itm%3D114190509006%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWebWithBBEV2bDemotion%26brand%3DMarkenlos&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  15. Well I done all that and it helped a little but I found the culprit after another BSOD in Sea of Thieves. Boot drive is dying. Funny thing is the only reason I'm using this machine is because the boot drive died in my main PC and Ive yet to get a new one for it. Looks like I have to now.
  16. never bothered tbh and ive never had driver issues till now interestingly
  17. kinda wanted to just go through the Radeon software but i suppose im going to have to. thanks
  18. Hey Guys So ive got a Vega 56 (flashed with a 64 bios) been working great ever since i bought it but since the last driver update a few days ago i've been having weird issues in games like in Sea Of Theives my screen will lock for like 5 seconds every so often and some of the islands just don't load the textures they just look like a big blob of ps1 era land, in BeamNG it does the same or just runs poorly randomly and last night right before i was about to jump off i got a BSOD that i couldn't read because it was like only displaying in the bottom left of the screen and only half of it. I have been trying to find a way to roll back the drivers but i don't see an option for it in the Radeon software and googling it only gets me so far since everything i find is from the old days of Radeon cards. any ideas?
  19. Haha they're a good lil thing that'd be good fun. For me it was one of the first things that got me into PC building, I found it thrown out (with the blown PSU) it's a very similar model to yours was, mine is an SK21G which had a Sempron 3300+ but I've ordered the Athlon and I already had the 9550 which makes it a perfect midrange 2003 gaming PC so finally I'll get around to finishing HL2 again.
  20. Yeah that makes sense I can see why. I'm just gonna get one of the models that was a recommended upgrade in these and rock the 300w. The original blew up years ago i've just had a full-size SFX sitting in the drive bay but it's a bit jank and I wanna use the drive bay so I thought bugger it lets finally do this properly and put a PSU in it that actually fit and then I can play some Half Life 2
  21. 100% agree I planned on going 300w anyway i was just checking to make sure that wasn't undercutting what I needed if that makes sense. I had a feeling it would be enough since iirc drives really only use like 10w or something like that and the mobo about 30 plus I've give it the 30% overhead so im pretty sure I should be right I just wanted to make sure I want doing the calculation totally wrong haha. Thanks mate
  22. *Sigh* you didn't read the bit where I said Flex ATX did you?
  23. Hey guys Can anyone give me the proper way to calculate your psu requirements? Just to clarify, I've been building for years and always gone for more than what I need within reason and chose sensibly but right now I'm building up a Shuttle 2003 retro gaming PC and need to get a PSU for it and being Flex ATX means I'm limited on PSU wattage without breaking the bank so im trying to figure out what my total load would be so I don't have to overspend for not reason. I've got a rough idea but just wanna clarify. To my knowledge it's the TDP or each part combined but I'm not sure how much the mobo, hdd, odd consume. Specs: Athlon 64 3200+ (Clawhammer): 89w Radeon 9550: can't find TDP anywhere but the 9600 supposedly is 12w so I'd guess it's around that? 2x 1gb DDR Dimms 1 x 7.2k rpm SATA drive 1 x ODD Just totalling up the main components with the 9550 as 20w since I'm not certain what it draws, I'm coming up with 141w that's *including* a 30% overhead so I'm guessing once I add ram, mobo and drives it would be around 200w? Am I close or totally wrong?
  24. That was my thought process as well although I may wait and see because I just found a guy selling an rx5700XT for $450 AUD which is $50 cheaper than a new NON XT model and that would set me up for years since I run a card for ever (as you can tell by me still running a 970)
  25. Yeah problem is I don't think he covered a Vega 56 with the bios mod which this one has because it gives them a hell of a peformance boost and overclocking boost
