CHEESYnachoMAN4 reacted to Bombastinator in would 2 140mm fans as pull with 3 120mm as push be beneficial?
The rule is generally you get at most only 20% of the power of the second fan as additional cooling.  Twin fans are mostly useful when a single fan runs a bit too fast and creates more noise than is wanted.  Sometimes slowing a fan only a little produces a massive nois level change.  If the fans are already running slow, or so fast that a second fan won’t help enough, all they do is make more noise to no great useful purpose.  140s have a lot less static pressure than 120s too, so they may not even add much at all.

    @ShrimpBrime& @FakeKGB
Thank you both very very much I really appreciate your help 🙂
I successfully used the rom to flash the silent bios through nvflash and then I successfully updated it to the latest silent bios using the exe from gigabyte.

I do not, sorry. I've never used it personally.
The Techpowerup forums would be a good place to ask, though. They're where I found the VBIOS file.

    Alright, here's an idea:
I wasn't able to find the Resizable BAR-supporting Silent VBIOS, but I was able to find an older Silent VBIOS.
If you flash this onto your Silent VBIOS slot, the updater program should work (as it will now have a full VBIOS, not a corrupted one).
MAKE SURE to follow every step exactly and that your switch is on the Silent VBIOS. Your card does have a dual BIOS switch, but if you brick both, there's not much you can do.

If you are able to boot with the switch set on OC, you should be able to flash the silent bios without any problem. After entering the desktop, open the program you used to flash the bios, flip the switch to the silent position and flash the BIOS

Yes, you'll have to boot with the OC VBIOS, flip the switch to Silent (it doesn't use the VBIOS except on boot), and then flash the Silent Resizable BAR VBIOS.
Just don't close out of the VBIOS flashing!

I believe you'll have to use nvflash. I'm not the person to ask about it, but @ShrimpBrime may be able to help you.

Depends what shape you look forand what you play, personally I'd go with Viper any day. It's ambidextrous which I prefer and it's light and not heavy which is great for fps games.

I ended up going for the seagate because the Toshiba one had worse reviews many saying it failed pretty quick. While the seagate drive had more reviews and most were rated good.

No one need Raid 0 anymore. Once one of your drive failed you'll loose all the data. Not worth it.
I'm talking about data security, you can't predict when the drive will fail, so instead of putting everything in a huge disk, why don't you just spread it apart.

I would just keep them on the HDD and install the ones you need to load quickly onto an SSD.

That said, I'd choose Seagate over Toshiba.

It doesn't use more than 200-300W at most, it's fine

I'd still just avoid buying one though until prices are reasonable, or 1080tis are cheap

Is it the EVGA P2 650W listed in your signature? That's perfectly fine for a 2080Ti. No need to change.

That's fairly pointless IMO, you could upgrade to a 1080ti with a 1440p 144hz IPS display for nearly the same money

CHEESYnachoMAN4 reacted to Brooksie359 in Which rtx 2070 should I buy?
Some people just prefer new hardware. I know I am certainly one of those people. Even if the person who had it previously took good care of the hardware it still doesn't change the fact that the hardware has some wear and tear from being used. When the 1070ti and other gpus were on good sales used I would have suggested buying them but buying a used card just to save a couple bucks at the performance level of a 2070 isn't worth it imo. If you are strapped for cash then sure but this doesn't seem to be the case here.

BUT with current gpu prices some pre builts come out cheaper than building a custom one.

No they aren't compatible with these fans those all use proprietary systems where the Coolermaster ones use the common RGB SMD5050 type standard. It must be one of those controllers such as ones from these premade plug and go solutions.

Hi I just wanted update you.
I took the controller from a old led strip I had and the power source was a barrel so I cut a little before the barrel and I exposed the wires and I found a random molex connector in my psu box and I did a extremely ghetto job of connecting the wires (I twisted them together and put tape so the other wires dont touch and cause anything bad.

But now it works perfectly when I start up and I can change the colors with the remote I routed the IR sensor from the controller to a hidden to the eye but visible through the case window place and it works.

I forgot to take pictures sorry

If it doesn't have OS files on it you should be able to just copy all the files from one to the other, then take out the old one and remap the new one to the same drive letter. I've done this before (just had game installs and media on it) without issue.
