So, I'm looking to do a big upgrade to my prebuilt PC that I have only done small upgrades on like GPU and PSU. Now I'm upgrading the motherboard, ram, and case. However, I have a couple of questions before I even consider about moving on.
How do I completely wipe my hard drive (including things like motherboard drivers and other things like that) without having to wipe out windows?
I am having a hard time picking between this motherboard (https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Motherboard-B250M-MORTAR-ARCTIC/dp/B01N4LD530/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1490763944&sr=8-2&keywords=mortar+arctic) or (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAQ6RFE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER) is the difference in aesthetic worth the 15 dollars extra? Or is there some helpful feature that one motherboard has that the other doesn't have?
Both of the motherboards support DDR4 2400 RAM, but I found some nice Corsair Vengence 2666 RAM for a cheaper price, would the sticks still work with the motherboards?
Full PC specs after upgrade:
Intel i5 6400 with a cryorig C7 heatsink
EVGA GTX 1060 6GB FTW+ Edition
MSI B150 Mortar Arctic LGA 1151 Socket or MSI B250 Bazooka LGA 1151 Socket
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 2666 RAM
EVGA 450B PSU
Corsair Carbide Series Air 240 MAtx Case
Thanks!
