That guy obviously wants that button just to boost his ego. I think Linus had better value to it.

GTX 1060s are decent GPUs mining ETH at around 22Mh/s (~$1.5 - $2 a day) with a ROI (return on investment) at around 4 - 5 months. While GTX 1070s are a safer bet but more costly in general. All this is accounted for if almost nothing goes wrong (e.g. hardware failure). Yes, it may restrict a few currencies to mine due to their hardware requirements.

I will agree with a few people here, it's all risk management and it requires the will burn though money if things go bad. But overall, it's worth a shot to try as a hobby. Good luck!
