  1. Hi, I have recently purchased a new 12700k and MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 motherboard to put it into. I am trying to enable AVX-512 to make use of it in RPCS3, however no matter what I do, it doesn't seem to want to enable it. I have disabled the E-cores, enabled AVX-512 in the BIOS (on v1.10) and even selected the AVX-512 microcode on the latest beta BIOS (v1.28) but it won't enable through all of that. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I have heard that Intel is fusing it off on newer CPUs but I bought this one before anyone was made aware of this so I am not sure it is applicable here? My other system specs are in my signature. On closer inspection of the box, it says copyright year is 2021 instead of 2022 so I am not convinced that it is fused off on this CPU.
  2. After fighting with my cooler for a little bit, this turned out to be the problem. Thank you.
  3. The motherboard is rated for 3200mhz maximum, and the RAM I have bought for it states that it is rated to 3200mhz.
  4. Yes, and it still refused to boot at that speed. How do I check that? I put them into A1 and B1 if that makes any difference.
  5. Hi, So I recently upgraded to Ryzen for my 18th birthday, set everything up and it's all working great. However, I can't get my RAM to run at its rated speed of 3200mhz. The fastest I can get it to go is 2666mhz. Does anyone know what's going on, and can you point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. 6. I generally don't have a brand preference. However, I am strongly against used parts unless they're from CEX. I've had a bad experience with used cards off of eBay (and so has my father)
  7. Saving would take too long. To get the extra £65, I'd have to save all the money I get from my mother, and she gives me like £5 a week, so that's 13 weeks lol
  8. I would also like to avoid going used as much as possible.
  9. I've got £175 to spend on a new GPU. This is the cheapest 1060 3gb in the UK (without going used) from what I've found. Does anyone have any experience with this variety of 1060? This is the system it will be paired with: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/2dXvLD
  10. Well, to be honest, I don't use my PC for anything intensive at the moment. Watching videos, school work, that sort of stuff
  11. 1. I have had a bad experience with used video cards 2. The 1060 6GB just falls out of my budget
  12. I've found it in CEX for £180 lmao If they do sell them in more than just the reference cooler, I might go for it
  13. Here's my PC: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/KgQYsJ I seriously have no idea. When there's too much choice, I just get stuck lmao
  14. Prices are usually reflective of their quality. The basic rule is to never cheap out on your PSU. €50 should be more than enough for a decent one. That CX450M is quite good for the price. Can I see a list of what parts you're going to use?
